Well, here is another picture of her, sunbathing. I really doubt she is a roo...she doesn't have spurs and she has had dirt baths (what roo has a dirt bath? they are too proud)

I agree it looks pullet-ish feather and comb wise, but that color is very roo. It's a mixed breed, whatever sex it is. I'd love to see pics again in a few months.
Many roos don't get spurs until almost a year, and my roos have always dust bathed, so those aren't reliable indicators of sex.
At 5 months, I think the saddle feathers would be showing by now if it was a rooster. I was told that the comb of a hen will become redder and swollen before she begins to lay, so maybe we are seeing that? When did the comb get so red? This one sure is a mystery. You said that you thought you had bought Welsummers, so do you have others with similar coloring? It shouldn't be much longer before you get an egg or a crow, but I'm starting to lean in the pullet direction now. A very unique pullet! Maybe she's a tomboy!
