Now I've seen everything!

This weather system did the same thing to us, a few inches of rare snow and a crust on top. At the barn where I work, I left the horses in rather than have them get wet yesterday, so they were pretty antsy this morning going out. While none of them refused point blank, there was some blowing and fussing. Most of them looked like Hackneys, prancing across the pasture with amazingly high knee and hock action!

As you can see I live in snow country. Gotta tell ya, mine react like they have never seen snow after each storm...even when it just snows a little over night. They use it as an excuse to snot, blow, run and just act silly.

We haven't had any snow yet this year (knock on wood) but my horses were not amused by the snow last winter. I tried explaining that other horses frolic, but they weren't buying it.

Wussies. My mare always fluffs up like an angora rabbit in the winter and placidly eats out of the round bale all winter long.

Funny story though.

I can guarantee that my horse and I would have a hard time in southern heat and humidity.

We got alot of snow.I would let that fellow out to check the snow out for hisself. Can't really tell him, lol, just let him figure it out in a safe area.My horses are just hanging out around the barn. The chickens hate it.The dogs like it.The turkeys are still trying to figure out what it is.LOL.We had fun but I'm ready to see it gone.It might melt by Friday/Saturday.Maybe.I've lived in the same area for over 40 years and we've always had alittle snow, some ice. This snow was so deep it was hard to walk in.I wonder if we need snowshoes? It was at least 10 inches, more in drifts.

LOL! We don't get a whole lot of snow here but my retired guy LOVES to roll in it and when it's deep enough to not be slippery we love to go for winter wonderland rides

I'm not sure how my dressage horse would react... I'm sure he'd be fine as he's a pretty mellow guy but the barn he's boarded at keeps them in when the ground freezes just to be safe. I usually let my own horses out but I don't blame them for not... There are several horses in there that cost six figures so I would HATE to be liable for an injury to one of them!
