Gonna share a few things, mostly chicken related. Below is the progress on my pallet coop. First the starting pic then what I have done after approximately 5 half days. Wife is standing in the most recent because she helped paint...I hate painting! The entire coop and the run has cost approximately $70...mostly in screws, chicken wire, paint, and staples. I did have to buy $20 worth of plywood boarding to cover the open space and make a large barn door to get into the coop. Anyway, the really cool thing about the run is that the framing for it was found in a scrap wood pile at a local business...completely assembled. All I did was secure it to the coop and I was able to start tacking up the wire. Good score for ZERO dollars. The other pics are of 4 of our 6 chicks obtained on Sunday. 2 cochins and 2 silkies, one smooth one frizzle. They are named after the golden girls...Blanche, Rose, Sophia, and Dorothy. Tomorrow we'll be getting our two Amerecaunas and that will complete our flock.

Lastly, I'd like to share with you an important cause that will soon affect you if it hasn't already. The new numbers for autism are 1 in 68. That's crazy but it's true. I'm a special education teacher in a private non profit school where we get kids ready to integrate back into the general public school population with the social and academic skills they need to survive. Please take a minute to watch this news segment about my school. Oh yeah, I'm the bald guy that teaches science.
