Now, what are the odds?

My two usual regular layers, bantam RIR, go broody for the first time and my Golden Comet lays for the first time on the same day?! Funny to see the big first egg next to my bantam leghorn egg. Still have one Golden Comet who is taking her sweet time maturing. It's so hard to wait for those first eggs. Now I'll have to be patient for my broody hens to get over that and start laying, too. They're so agitated and unpleasant for everyone to be around, too.

Don't you just love the growling, and grumpiness? Mine is a grumpy gal!! She growls if another hen comes near, and every time that I go past her nest to get the other eggs.
