I just got off the phone with the New York State Agriculture and Marketing Department, having spoken with Mary Beth, who sends out the application information for NPIP Certification.
When she found out that I primarily have ducks and geese, she told me that NYS does NOT test waterfowl because the NPIP program is primarily for chicken pullorum.
This is the office/phone number I found on the USDA website. She told me I was in the right place and she was the person I needed to talk with.....I asked her about turkeys and she said they were in with waterfowl.
This doesn't make sense. Any other NY waterfowl people here have NPIP certification for your ducks/geese?
