NR 360 vs cheap Amazon incubator

I have had consistent 30% hatch rates with my NR360 so just for fun, I ordered a cheap one from Amazon. I have a Govee thermometer in both (labeled 1 and 2 respectively) and here is where they did over night with no eggs, just a test run, the new one plugged in at 5pm. Perhaps these fluctuations are what's killing my embryos.

You won’t hatch any eggs at 97 either! I had one Amazon bubble that I had to run at 103 to get it to maintain 99, did fine otherwise. My borrowed nr360 was a degree cold but hatched fine once I discovered thermometers (but hate the lid). The little giant said 99 but ran 105 no matter what it was set at. Another Amazon one gave me 3 live chicks out of 18 fertile eggs due to a faulty turner but the temp was great. My current favorite is another Amazon one (ran the same model last year but the heater gave out and couldn’t get above 98). Incubators seem to each have their own quirks even name brand! Not sure on longevity either between cheap and name brand (number of incubation days not years it sits in the closet!). What changed on your nr to cause the temp crash? Dying heater, draft, dog knocked lid off? An incubator that can’t maintain a steady temp is worthless, if you can get the temp up on the Amazon one it might be the better incubator at the moment!

For the moment, since I'm not hatching any eggs, I don't care what the temperatures are. I can set the temperature higher, I just wanted to see what it's variations were right out of the box

My NR360 both are about half a degree off and otherwise work great. I do cover them with a towel (not the air vents!) during incubation to help keep the temperature steady. I did notice when I ran the incubators empty to test vs having eggs in them - the empty incubator had more fluctuation than when there are eggs. My Kebonnixs is about a degree off or so. I wanted to trust it but I had to raise the temperature up a bit. I feel like this incubator has more cool spots in it. My Impeckables incubator I haven't really used much so I don't know.

I just set up my Maticoopx 20 egg incubator I got on Amazon for $99
I am not going to try and second guess the settings, if I did I would have to then decide which was correct and which was off and I would probably mess it up. I am setting eggs either tomorrow or the day after once my neighbor has collected a dozen for me. The reviews on Amazon, and the experiences of people on this forum suggest I will have a good hatch. We shall see.

That's crazy! So many variations. I have TWO nurture right 360 and the other one is actually worse with a 2 degree fluctuation every 4 hours. This the pictured, nothing happened. No pets in the house and the incubator were side by side. It was around the 2am mark.

My eggs are dying as embryos so I'm leaning more towards a humidity issue that I hope will be fixed by the Amazon one. I'll raise the temp to 99.6 and humidity at 45 and let y'all know in 3 weeks what happens.

I've done 3 back to back hatches in my Maticoopx since I got it and I'm loving it!

I actually chucked my NR360 this year after it started having wild temp fluctuations. It was great the first year, the second year it was way off, and I had to adjust the temp, this year it went plum off its rocker. If I can't trust it to do what it's supposed to do without constantly babysitting it, I don't need it.

I shouldn't laugh but you just made me laugh like crazy. Lol plum off it's rocker...lol it must have been pretty bad.
