I finally got two Nubian doelings. One rose roan looking one and a brown one with grey and light brown moon spots (I'm guessing you'd call them). Well, I was soooo excited to get these girls...and as I checked over them this morning after I got them yesterday I noticed the roan colored doeling has a under-shot. I got to check out both their mother and father, GREAT looking goats! I emailed the lady back and told her about it, she said she didn't consider it and under-bite and said the doeling will likely grow into it since her mother and father both have very roman noses. Both kids were born in January and have been bottle fed, the lady said she was just weaning them but I may decide to keep feeding them til they are three months old along with my bottle lambs, can kids be fed lamb replacer? I gave them each a bottle last night and this morning along with fresh water, green hay, and grain. Their poo looks fine nice and formed. They are both eating hay like they are never going to eat again. I'm just concerned with the roan doeling and breeding her, I got them both for a pretty good price and before I had even got them decided I'd sell one in the fall, I really wanted to keep the roan doe for her beautiful color but I'm afraid since she has that under-shot. Whichever one I do keep will be bred with my painted Boer buck to get colorful babies and will be a pet/breeder. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a picture, you can kind of see the under-bite on the white faced doeling. I'm going to try to get some better pictures of both girls and see what you all think!

I can't see it in that pic, better pics will help! I think continuing bottle feeding will help them adjust to their new home, but have no idea about the lamb replacer I use whole milk if I don't have goat milk.

I'd wait and see how it looks in a few months, but I think she's going to be fine! She's adorable, they both are!

She looks perfect to me! They both do. Sometimes their bottom jaw will stick out more due to nursing and will correct itself as they grow. I'd also continue with the milk...the longer the better although I know it gets old very quickly!

Congratulations!

Thank you guys! I was worried sick about that! I want to breed her, but don't want to put bad genetics out there either. She's a beautiful little girl otherwise.
