Numerous eggs

I have 5 one year old hens, we collect eggs daily but today my husband checked for eggs this in morning got 2, then afternoon we went to check for eggs and found 14 eggs, is this possible

Seems like some were likely missed the last couple days.

No we are faithful on getting eggs, my husband had feed and watered then just a few hours before he decided to check for eggs again, it has been really hot and we don't like eggs laying in heat. We check several places a day for eggs

Ether you missed them before or someone pranked you.

No prank, just my husband and me . No neighbors and the hen house was cleaned a week ago so we could add our 8 ek old chicks,plus we get 5 eggs everyday so there wasn't any hidden.
