Nurture Right 360 and Room Temps

After I read this in my instructions it had me thinking about using an incubator in a cold room and if that might of been the reason I struggled with humidity in my Janoel ( it would go from 50% to 10% overnight) as the heat has to be on more to keep the incubator stable which dries it out faster.

My "hatching room" (the laundry room, lol) is one of the warmer rooms in our house at 63* right now, and my NR is working great.

They also had a warning about putting your incubator on the floor because there's "too much CO2," as well. Well, I put mine on my floor.

I ended up just cutting out an 8" thick piece of styrofoam and dropping this incubator in, being careful not to block the water intake or ventilation.

I dont understand why companies would not put a thin layer of insulation around their plastic incubators... it's ridiculous.

In other news, one time I hatched chickens with a thermometer, light bulb, and tray of water in a styrofoam cooler. Every time we remembered, one of us would rotate the eggs. Man that cooler smelled bad after that, but we still hatched like 50%. Lol.
