Hey there! Does anyone know if this feed is medicated for cocci? I've been feeding it to my chicks for over 1 yr, and I always thought it was, but can't find any info on the bag.

I don't feed Nutrena so I cannot say for certainty. I don't even know if it does show a list of ingredients. My guess is that it will show a percent of protein, calcium and other nutrients but not the specific ingredients. I also do not feed medicated feed.

You can always contact the manufacturer and ask them. I'd trust the manufacturer more than the distributor, especially if it is in the form of an e-mail, but you can also ask the distributor. My strong guess is that if it is medicated, it will say it is medicated. If it does not say medicated, it very likely is not.

I was told it isnt. Is the kind you are using a powdery mash? I was using that last year and emailed the company to check and they said it was unmedicated. I was wetting it into a soupy mixture and giving it to the ducklings.

If it is medicated it will say it somewhere on the bag or tag and I believe that the tag is going to be red if it is medicated..
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Amprolium are two of the names you might see on the bag if it is medicated..

It depends. They carry both. It should say it on the front at the bottom. You must ask the clerk for medicated or non medicated.

I think I just had the longest blond moment ever! I've feed the nutrena chick start to all my chicks, even did it last year! And I guess I imagined that I saw it medicated IDK... LOL like I said, severe blond moment!

I think my chicks have picked up cocci. (they play outside) I noticed some bloody poo, and I thought no way! I feed medicated food!

They're due for a new bag, so I'll pic up the medicated kind from Rural King. The Manna Pro (or Momma Pro, my blonde daughter thought

) only comes in a 5# bag, so I'll have to get the rural king medicated kind. I just don't see how I missed that for over a year!
