Nutrena Naturewise All Flock

My preferred commercial feed is Nutrena All Flock; I have chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese of all ages. They all do very well on it and I really like the small pellets! Very little feed wasted, as somebody in the flock will peck up very last one on the floor.

Yes, I also keep crushed oyster shell available free choice, 24/7 in a separate bowl.

I just bought All Flock for the first time because it sounded really great. I brought it home and my birds don't seem to like it. I have chickens, ducks, and turkeys and they've always liked their feeds before. Could it be because All flock is in pellet form and my other feeds were crumbles? Should I give them time to get used to it or switch back? Usually when I fill up the feeders there is a frenzy of birds trying things out. Now they stand back and watch me :(

I always fed all flock pellet till babies started coming them I'd switch to crumble, but when babies were old enough to eat pellet and I switched back to it they clearly told me they did not like it, so I just stay with crumble and went to long goat feeders to keep the chickens from getting into the feeders and scattering the feed all out. Plus using fermented feed which is moist that helps too.

Did they ever get used to it? I originally was feeding everyone crumbles then switched over to All Flock. What have your findings been?

Thanks!

I know this thread is kind of dead…but looking to switch my mixed flock to this feed (duck and drake and 5 hens). They are on Dumor crumbles right now…which they like but lots of waste. They are all good eaters so I am thinking they will be okay with the pellets….Curious if anyone has new feedback??

My ducks liked pellets when that's what I fed them. I have since switched to Countryside Organic - it's not pelleted - I do add some water to it and they seem to really do well with it. There is a little splash, but that's because they are ducks, I think.

Could someone post the tag for this feed or simply list the actual ingredients? I assume it is corn and soy based but would like to know at least the first three ingredients.
