Nutridrench questions

My 6 babies arrived today after a 4 day journey. They looked sick when they arrived, so I gave each one a tiny drop of nutridrench on the side of their beak. They're doing fine now, but 2 look slightly weaker than the others. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. So, the question is can I put some nutridrench in their water or will that discourage them from drinking or over dose them?

Yes, you can put it in their water. Mix it to the consistency of very weak tea. You can also give them sugar in their water, or electrolytes. I would supply the sugar or lytes in a separate waterer. Here's a recipe for home made lytes.

1tbs organic cane sugar
1/8 tsp sea salt
1/8 tsp baking soda
stir into 8 oz of filtered water

I have used this recipe. The unsw. Koolaid is NOT the nutrasweet kind. It's the old fashioned kind that you have to add sugar to.
Homemade Pedialyte Recipe #2

1. 4 cups water.
2. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
3. 3 tablespoons sugar or honey (remember that babies can't have honey until they're at least 1 year old)
4. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
5. optional: 1/2 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid.

Just a little addition to Lazy gardeners excellent post.
use 1/2 teaspoon poultry nutri-drench to one quart water . it will look like very weak tea. feed the Drench water to them for the first 10 to 14 days to get them off to a strong start. Don't add anything else to the water.
if you have a needy chick, you can give them another drop every 8 to 10 hours until they're perky.
