NW Indiana / Porter County

This is my first time raising chickens in my backyard. I thought I purchased all pullets, but I do have one rooster now (not pictured). Does anyone know if it is ok to have a rooster in Porter County Indiana? I know it is ok to have hens, because a lady down the road from me sells eggs off of the highway, but I wasn't sure about roosters?

I'm in LaPorte county.

I'm not sure about the actual law in Porter, but I know lots of people that have roosters there. Are you inside any city limits? If you're just out in the country it should be fine. Towns are certainly another story.

Hi neighbor

I am not inside city limits, but I do have neighbors all around my house. I am waiting for one the one behind me to complain. I am new to raising chickens. I was just going to buy two, but Tractor supply said I had to buy at least 6. I guess chickens can be addicting, because I ended up with eight. Lol
