NYDH contest5

I posted over on the other thread at the same time as you posted this :)
I also snagged a copy of the pic of the coop/pen as it is the sort of basic simple thing I've been trying to get the DH to understand I need for a Breeding Pen.
He keeps thinking I want a palace, when all I want is a simple coop/pen that functions and does not look like a pile of garbage (he *could* have used matching colors on the roofing tin on the last one, but no, somehow hr used some of each of 3 different colors from the left over tin pile,.. leaving some of each color un-used?? )

FeyRaine - trying to find that happy middle ground between functional and decorative, where the "UP" in UP-cycle lives...

NEVER FEED Your Chickens.... Citrus(peels or fruit) declines egg production. Spoiled meat. Meat in large quantities. Raw eggs are safe, BUT encourages them to eat their own ! Garlic and onion are safe, just be ware that if your hens eat these, you’ll have garlic- and onion-flavored eggs. Avocado. The fruit of avocado is OK for chickens to eat, but the skins and pits are slightly toxic to chickens. NO Potato peels are toxic.beans, salty food, sugary foods. Chocolate, Morning glories & daffodils.

Oyster Shells and Grit why you need both. Crushed oyster shells provide an extra boost of calcium that will allow your chickens to lay nice, hard-shelled eggs. To give your chickens oyster shells, just offer in a bowl or cage cup in a separate container next to your chickens’ feed. only laying HENS! Instead of chewing, chickens store grit, or small stones in their “crop,” an area of the digestive system where chickens begin to digest their food before it enters the stomach.
