I candled my eggs today. I have them from day 14 through day 8 or 9. I have 3-4 shipped BCM progressing out of 8, 2 shipped LF cochin out of 8, 11 local black jersey giant out of 12, and two mixed sebright eggs that some one traded for a rooster

, she gave me like 2 dozen, I only set 6 since they where pretty dirty an she had barnyard mix, which I don't need.
Overall, I'll be pretty happy if most hatch. I only really need 1 BCM pullet, so the rest would be bonuses. I plan on selling the jersey giants, and I haven't decided about the Cochins. I think I have one silver laced and one black growing. I may keep both of them. If the silver laced is a too, I could get sex links... I also thought about starting a silver laced blue project... But I really think I will get barred LF Cochins and started a blue barred project.

I set more eggs yesterday. Not really sure why...probably all the pictures of fuzzy butts.

Me, too. In fact, I've got some set from 5 days ago, too.

The eggs kept coming....there were empty spaces in the incubator...how could one possibly resist? I ask you.

Supposed to also get some eggs in the mail today, we'll see what happens with that storm that rolled through. Hubby is off to get the snowblower fired up.

So TODAY is the solstice? I'm looking forward to some more light in my day. Feels like I'm always rushing home to try to do chores before it's pitch black.

YES!! The worst thing is, I was up before it happened and CONSIDERED getting DH up to move the table top…instead, I let him sleep. Well, the pic doesn't show it, but the glass was lifted and smashed against the house, I'm lucky it didn't break the window. Happened around 4.
