O.T. dispatching rabbits?

LoL I saw a video of a British man processing a wild rabbit that had been shot dead. All he did was open the bunny from the sternum to the genitals, and then just held the bunny over the garbage and just jostled him firmly and the insides tumbled to the garbage can below.

Thats a good vid to watch unfortunately i cant seem to find it again.

I agree on the taste. For me it has to do with the rabbits being cleaner. The chickens were just disgusting to me. I could not keep up with them and keep their pen clean or un stinky.

I know someone who uses the "tool" shown in the Youtube video and he loves it. Rabbits are next on our list and we plan on using this method; quick, humane, and clean.

Broom stick method. Quick, clean - I've never even had one whimper. I keep a club handy just in case - but I've never once had to use it.

Just be firm and fast. Takes conviction, but is humane. (be sure to hold and tug from the thighs). Often, when I run my finges along the neck, I can actually feel a 'gap'. I appreciate this. I know the rabbit went fast - and it gives me a point at which to sever the head without having to saw through the neck bone.

I just wanted to let everyone know, that the "rabbit wrangler" looks easy but the list owner for the Yahoo group called "Meat rabbits" had this to say about it:

I refuse to test the one I have any further; the failures FAR outnumber the
successes. Very sad.

Pamela has said over and over again that it is not an easy tool to use. You have to put the device on a 4X4 and pull just right. It is harder then it looks.
Which ever method you use always have a back up method in case the first does not work properly. Nothing worst then having an injuryed rabbit screaming.
