Don't despair I had the same problem. I was feeding 16% protein and someone here said to get 20% and mix it half and half. This will bring your protein up to 18%. This cured my problem. Cat food is good but my girls would not eat it. Another solution is peepers that you leave on 24/7 for 6 weeks. You put them on all your hens. They can still see, eat, drink,etc. They are not for the squimish though. You place them over their beeks and drive a plastic little stick through the holes of the peepers and through the nostrils.
