Obsession with a paper plate!

so my chicks are 3 days old and the first day i gave them starter on a paper plate. they loved it.

then the next day, i removed the plate and put in a circular small feeder. then today, i was watching them for a few minutes and noticed them pecking and scratching in the wood shavings. so i gave them the plate to peck at ... they LOVED it.

all 10 birds were huddled ON the plate pecking away. it was like a treat to them. they could not get enough. so i am leaving the plate over night for them.

I just posted on facebook...it is like getting a new puppy! They are a blast. They even have personalities at 3 days old. I LOVE it. We have named 4 of the 10. We are suppose to only keep 7...not thinking I want to give any up right now!!! Will have to build a bigger coop!
