So I was measuring areas on the property today to decide the best place for the coop to be built. As I was measuring I saw where something had built a very big den in one of the wooded areas.
The previous owner left a large roll of chain link fencing to rust in that area and that made up one side of the den. The top was covered with dead leaves and branches. Branches built up the other side. Looked like a beaver den. Had an opening at least 8" high and almost that wide. The dirt path in the opening was very well worn.
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas what that could be, since it will probably try to eat my chickens

Ditto.

You could also look for pawprints on the "well worn" path. Pawprints would really help.
