Well, I candled my eggs from Bill before they go into lockdown tomorrow. There were 3 quitters. Only one will go into lockdown tomorrow.

that it hatches.

Ok, can I get a quick heads up of who hasn't yet received their eggs? I think all but one person has sent everything. Just wanted to double check. I am waiting on a reply from her. She has been having internet problems.

TBJumper0514 how did the eggs make it? That was my first try with double boxing a flat rate medium. Would be nice to be able to use for the larger and further away shipments.

I had my first Oct swap egg hatch today. It was a LF Australian Light Sussex from Bill Vaughn. It was also the only egg to make it to lock down from these eggs.

At least I have that one.

Sorry for being mia the past week. Had a double birthday party for my 9 year old and soon to be 5 year old at my house. What was I thinking. 30 something kids at my house. Every darn one of them wanted to "play" with the chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, turkeys, goats, pigs and bunnies. Despite being told that we were staying up front away from the animals. Anyone wanna guess how well that worked. My animals are traumatized. Then thinking that this morning I would be able to get back on. I look outside and despite the fact that I haven't gone out to let anyone out of their houses my bantam cochins are running around the yard with the guineas and ducks that fly out each morning.

So as I watch and wonder what happened I see the male guinea attacking my cochins. So I run out in my nightgown sick of that stupid guinea he's vicious and even more so now that my head roo is gone. Collect all the cochins and put them back into their pen. Missing a self blue. Search, search, search. Find him hiding under a trailer put him away. Conduct another head count realize that 2 of the roosters combs are bleeding, and the one hen has her comb half ripped off.

So instead of coming on here I doctored wounds and male guinea went to freezer camp. Right before work I went out to check on the chickens. Everyone was resting peacefully in the coop. I haven't seen that in months. Even the young guineas were in there. I haven't been able to keep them out of the cochin pen for more than 5 minutes in the past 2 weeks. They even roosted where they belonged. If I had known that getting rid of him would do that he would have gone to freezer camp weeks ago.

I have been told that all sets of eggs went out. I am checking into dc # now since there are a few that haven't received their eggs.

Well, that sucks Mrheinz! I have quit swapping/hatching until they are done with the molting. They are really losing feathers and production has really dropped. Only getting 1 egg a day from 6 hens in my BLRW pen, and only 7-12 from my 25+ laying hens.

I have 3 sets in the bator right now, 2 from here and 1 from ebay. Ebay eggs look like 1 of the BLRW and 6 BBS Orp are going to make it to lockdown. I have 9 from elieugene that should go to lockdown, and the ones from Shelly are dark, so I can't really tell, but they are due a week later than the rest. Lockdown will be later this week.
