I have fluffies!
I woke up this morning and peered over at the incubator (I had heard peeping overnight) and three little black heads popped up to look at me!

I know I had two breeds originally (ABC and XYZ) from Tofu- Looks like I have two babies of one breed and one of the other (although I can't see the labels on the empty shells to be sure.

All are black with cream points but one has extremely heavy feathering on the feet (I am thinking black cochin?). The others are identical but without the feathering. I'm so excited to see what they turn out to be!
I know Tofu has black cochins but I have no idea what else she has so this is fun.

There are three other pips in the incubator, but those eggs have been pipped for 24 hours now....thinking it might be time to take them out and help them because it's day 23 now. I can see little breathing beaks in the holes. I'll update you guys on what happens and send pics tonight or tomorrow

Wonderful, I can't wait to tell my husband his duck is gonna be a daddy! The ducks are his babies and he has a special bond with Fred, the drake

Please post pics when they hatch!

As for my babies, three more hatched out! Now I have four with feathered legs and two without. One of feather-legs is still in the incubator and I'm not sure he's gonna make it though, he's panting and lethargic so I left him in there, I think he had a hard hatch...

come on baby...

Here is a picture of some of the babies (the solid black one in the middle is a black copper maran so he doesn't count). The wet one on the right is one of the non-feathered babies from this hatch...he had just fallen into the water bowl before I took the picture!

The two mystery babies have white spots on their heads, so I am thinking that whatever they are, they're probably barred or cuckoo somethings... barred rocks maybe? How am I doing? Lol, this is fun

Bananas---So what is your real guess on the babies that you don't know??

the ducks are taking forever....no one is out yet but almost

Tofu, my official guess is barred rocks.

If I'm right, you can tell me, but if I'm wrong you should keep me in suspense- in a few days they'll start getting wing feathers and that might help. I love a mystery, this is so much fun!

These babies are just adorable- and I've been wanting LF cochins for a long time so I'm really excited! I can't believe how much foot feathering they have already!

Nope, sorry, SillyStunt, you've got one more week of waiting. I didn't get them in the incubator right away when I got them, it took a few days to get everything stabilized. All still seem to be doing great, though. We can hardly wait, too! The kids constantly give me updates on the temp and humidity in the incubator, and if it varies by a degree or two they're frantic!

Gonna be fun! So next Saturday, give or take a day or two...
