We took in another injured duck yesterday, only this one also has eye concerns. He had an appointment Friday but just seeing what y’all think! Has anyone seen anything like this?

I haven’t either but being your rescuing these babies no telling what may have happened. You could try just rinsing in mild warm salt water for the time being until you see the vet or do nothing. I hope your vet can help and please let us know what they say. Bless you for taking these ducks in. You are truly a hero.

Late update but very good one! We went to my primary vet, who has always seen my ducks. She confirmed the angel wing, which was obvious. We’re trying binding them to his body to see if it’ll help but he’s overall unaffected by it. We put him on metacam and doxycycline. His limp is almost gone. We went to an avian specialist next.

They think his eye is a defect and not due to trauma. The infection is mostly gone. He has no vision on that side.

We’re working on trust because he’s still terrified of everything. I think he prefers my dogs at this point!
