Odd Behavior After Laying an egg

We have an Americana who is about 6-7 months old, she recently started laying eggs about 2 weeks ago, and it seems like right after she lays an egg, the feathers right under her beak become wet, almost like she is sweating. Then a day or two of her not laying the feathers become fluffy and normal again. Is this normal egg laying behavior? I'm wondering if after she lays she is just drinking more water which is causing her feathers to become wet, but I wouldn't think it would become this damp. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Watching for answers because I have three that should start laying in the next month or so.
