I posted pics of these two chickens some weeks ago (here are updated pics) and if I remember correctly the concensus was that the EE was a hen and the BR was a roo. For weeks now the EE has been the dominate chicken though. However, this morning we finally heard the BR crow. It appears he is trying to assert his dominance now. Yet the EE is not backing down.

So, I have several questions. Is the EE a hen or roo? Are EE's usually so aggressive if she is a hen? Or are BR's just mellow? Additionally, we had 3 other chickens that turned out to be roosters. We knew this about two weeks ago. Why did it take so long for the BR to crow?

Thanks for all your feedback.

She is a hen--her colouring and patterns are completely female--does not occur on males. I have several silkie hens who love to keep the boys in their place.
