Odd Behavior??

Broody hens are weird period.

That's a little weird.
When she went broody last year, she stayed in the nesting box.

Could she be sick? Did you take her to your avian vet to make sure that she didn’t catch anything? Maybe you should take her to the vet just to give her a check up! It could be an emergency.

She's not sick and we don't have a avian vet around.

She finally went to perch next to our cockerel so I think she is.
I'm starting to think that what the other person said about her possibly going broody might be right. She did growl at me and slightly fluffed up when I went to dump their dirty water bowl out for the night.

That sounds broody to me. Also, my hens like laying down near a fence line, and they do get themselves quite comfy, but I always figured it was because there are chickens on the other side. I have 3 chicken runs.
