She's not sick and we don't have a avian vet around.Could she be sick? Did you take her to your avian vet to make sure that she didn’t catch anything? Maybe you should take her to the vet just to give her a check up! It could be an emergency.

I'm starting to think that what the other person said about her possibly going broody might be right. She did growl at me and slightly fluffed up when I went to dump their dirty water bowl out for the night.

That sounds broody to me. Also, my hens like laying down near a fence line, and they do get themselves quite comfy, but I always figured it was because there are chickens on the other side. I have 3 chicken runs.She finally went to perch next to our cockerel so I think she is.
