Odd Behavior?

Hey there!
I'm looking for some advice on what's going on with one of our hens. We have a 6 month old bantam cochin who doesn't act like the rest of the chickens in the flock. She eats and drinks just fine, scratches around like she should, but she doesn't make ANY sounds whatsoever. When she's out free ranging with the flock, she keeps up but sometimes she gets left behind and she doesn't seem bothered by it. We will find her wandering around by herself when it happens. Sometimes she just sits and "chills", she's always been very docile. She doesn't show any signs (that I can see) of being sick. It's just really strange behavior for a chicken. Does anyone have experience with this?

Some birds are just naturally more mellow and loners. As long as all else is good with her, I would not worry.
Good to know! It’s just so weird because she literally never makes a sound and is so content being held. She will nap in your arms, which makes her the favorite with my kids. Lol!

I have a Mallorca hen who flies out of the fenced back 6 acres and forages alone around the house, sometimes several hundred feet from the flock. She is also quiet but hates being handled or picked up. She's the most aloof chicken we've had and seems just as content to be on her own as most others seem to be with a flock. Until dark. Then she goes into whichever coop has the most chickens in it.
