Odd colored eggs

every now and then my girl Butters who is a brown egg layer will lay a pinkish colored egg. Why? The top brown egg is how they usually look and you can see the difference...
 
I thought I read somewhere about a whitish film on eggs from some sort of hiccup in the last stage of egg development, like an extra coating of thin calcium that creates a milky tone over brown eggs. Now I have to go find that link where I read that...

Looking forward to when you do. Occasionally I get one so covered with loose stick calcium it is white except where I or a Chicken scratches it.

I get pink sometimes too. I bet it is a light white overlay. If you get the shell wet I bet it will look properly brown again. Mine always do. Then they dry and look pink. I haven't noticed it being a problem I just avoid crushing those to feed back to the girls just in case.
