I have 5 hens (no rooster), all same age (1yr) within a week. My Ameracauna-mix (product of Ameracauna and something else)(name Grayhawk) has started to lay eggs with the shell "stained" on the "round bottom" end (not the pointy end). Both my pure, black, Ameracauna, and Grayhawk lay light-blue eggs; however, Grayhawk's eggs have always (100%) been "rough" to the touch. Although all 5 eat the same feed, Grayhawk eats like a hog...she's always first to eat and eats until everything is gone.
The egg inside is perfectly fine. The egg is not "soft" or otherwise rubbery. But the round "stain" is a new development.
p.s. not sure what that pimple is next to her eye (that's new within last 24hrs).
Thoughts?
