I recently got a pair of two year old geese from someone who decided he didn't like them anymore. Everyday, I sit on the tailgate of the truck and watch the geese and chickens. they are all free range. The gander, his name is Quinn by the way, walks up to me, and starts rubbing his bill on my boots and legs. he does this and then starts nibbling. he also tries to climb up up on my boot. He then gets more and more agressive in his biting. Why is he doing this. He does this both before and after he is fed. He also makes no noise whatsoever. What does this mean? is he looking for food on my leg? What is he doing??

I'm no goose expert, but I know how my single male goffin's cockatoo acted certain times of the year. I think he's "interested" in you in a springtime sort of way.

I have a drake named Quinn... But he is too young for the display of mating rituals that your gander seems to be.. Certainly sounds like he is a little confused about exceptable mating partners.

My one goose likes to nibble on the rubber heel 'kicks' of my barn rubber boots (meaning they're a little molded rubber half oval on the back of each boot at the heel, they're for taking off the boots hands free, by the other boot). She does this as I'm spreading grass hay at feeding time, but she also likes to try to nibble off buttons on my cargo pants & has been known to pickpocket me & take my water jug lid, lol.

Silly goose! lol. But to her it's just playing around & checking out what I have.

I tell my husband "yep she's a girl thru & thru.... she's into shoes".

My ganders don't do any sort of behavior like yours, so can't help you there.
