Odd laying?

Well my duck layed 7 eggs on sunday, and another the next day in a nest, ducks is pruning alot and has a fluffy chest and bottom region. She is quacking alot and everymorning the nest looks more and more like one. Is she broody?

Okay I doubt she layed 7 eggs in one day haha she probably already had the nest going. She may just be laying in the same nest and if you aren't taking the eggs, she could go broody, depends on the breed too.

Ehh they usually don't go broody. She probably just has a favorite laying spot and lays an egg every day. If you wanted you could wait a few more days, by then her clutch should be big enough. There is always a chance she could go broody, but I doubt it with khaki campbells. If she did, do you have a drake, so the eggs are fertile.

My Khaki went broody and was a great mom untill I put the ducklings I hatched in my bator in with her and she thought her eggs hatched. So she got off all her eggs and they all died! Just don't put any neww birds in with her. Just let her be.
