odd loss

i dont have ivermectin pour on, i have injectable (use it orally with vets go ahear for heartworm prevent for the dogs) im told its a general dewormer when taken internally. but i dont know what the dosage woudl be for deworming chickens with that.

Ivermectin is a fast acter. If you don't worm regularly you don't want to start with that. Valbazen actually gets more types of worms but the process is slower killing them. More like over several days. If there's a heavy worm load a quick die off can possibly kill a bird.

Ivermectin kills the external parasites too (all the blood sucking types not necessarily the deplumers and scaley leg). So if you want to use Ivermectin, do a round of Wazine or Valbazen first, then 7-10 days later do Ivermectin.

In a pickle, I'd give an Adams Plus Flea and Tick Shampoo and then follow up with their spray (Adam's Plus Flea and Tick Spray) while you're waiting to be able to do the Ivermectin.

The bald hen I had, I did two rounds of Ivermectin and Sevin Dust a week or two apart for the results to really kick in.
