Odd questions!

Hey all! Two somewhat weird questions about my barred rocks. 1: Will the dark patterns on their beaks carry over into adulthood,or are they like parrots and this is a juvenile only coloration? 2: I've read that they're supposed to have coppery colored eyes, but my gals have grey eyes at 6 weeks. Will this change with maturity,or do I have weird birds?

I'm not sure about the eyes, but the coloration on the beak is normal.


I'm pretty sure I remember both of these guys having spots on their beaks. They are both pure Barred Rocks

Thanks! I was seeing some pics online with markings still - their beaks are the only way I can tell them apart at the moment.

My girls' eyes were like that as chicks. They gradually changed to a golden amber color. They still have the spots on their beaks, and all six of mine have at least some black on the beak. These were taken at about 19 weeks.

Thanks, I was not expecting to like the barred Rocks as much as I do. Their personalities so funny, I don't think I will ever be without a few in my flock.
