odd sore above eye

Young bantam roo. Has this sore on the side of his head, above the eye. It is very swollen. Any idea what it is or what I should treat it with? Concerned since it is so close to the eye.

Sorry no one answered earlier. It looks like he could have an ear infection, possibly bacterial, fungal, or from mites. Sometimes amoxixillin or clavamox is used to treat this. I would gather some QTips, hydrogen peroxide or Vetericyn, and some antibiotic ointment, and read some of the info in these threads, especially posts by Dawg53:
