Odd ... Um thing in the egg .

So I boiled an egg this morning for my sick chicky to eat , and in the white of the egg was what looked to be a scab ... hard and brown . Is this normal ? Keep in mind my girl has only been laying for one week now and this was her 3rd or 4th egg . My mom said it was fertalized by a roo ... I do not have any roos to my knowledge . My mom said if I had not boiled it , it would have looked like a blood spot in the white ... any input is welcome .

Sounds like a meat spot. I think that is a piece of like, the ovarian lining or something that naturally sheds now and then. Nothing to worry about.

once in a while you can get a little blood in the egg. doesn't mean it is fertile

Both blood spots and meat spots happen occasionally and have nothing to do with having a rooster.
