Im not really sure where to put this... but my year old hen started going through a rough molt and shes now regrowing her plumage back, but recently i started to notice that she has some odd white spots on her head and on her head only.

Ive heard of people having chickens whos colors change a little through every molt but Im not sure if thats consistent or not. Im not worried actually, it looks good on her! Shes a black australorp btw.

Pic is a lil blurry (unless it's me), but it looks like feather casings. The new feathers are shedding theirs. It's chicken dandruff!

Chickens can actually lose some of their color after a molt. Maybe there was a stress situation for her. Sickness, new chickens added, feed changes, preditor attack. It's ok... there is nothing you can do about it.

What?! You can't make her stand still?! A chicken?! If you ever figure out how, let me know. I don't have many clear pics of my flock. :)

I forgot to ask: What breed is she? I know some breeds get more speckled with age.
Also I got better pictures, when zoomed in the white parts are appaerently at the tips of the feather
