Ah to the tomato sandwich, you summer time treat!
You glorious juicy redness, peeled and salted, can't be beat!
A little Duke's mayo
A couple slices of bread
The dripping gooey tomato slices bring a tasty explosion in my head!
Nothing is the same the whole rest of the year
The thoughts of July Tomato sandwiches in November brings a tear.

So, how do you like your tomato sandwich?

I like to peel the tomato....picking the almost 'dead' ripe-eist ones. Slice pretty thick. A little salt and pepper and Duke's mayonnaise (or JFG in a pinch).

Yum Yum.

Guess what I had for lunch today??

Oh it has to be a home grown tomato with kraft mayo!

my favorite summer treat

I also like it with a home grown cucumber...yum yum

Someone in here had started the forum on this type of delicious tomato sandwiches!

Love the poem and it says it all so well! I like mine with Miracle Whip, no salt, no pepper. You're making me jealous!

You eat it "exactly" the way I like it except for a few tweaks. Peeled tomatoes, Duke mayo., no salt just pepper, and whole wheat bread lightly toasted. Mmmm..... Mmmm.....

I like to make a grilled cheese sandwich with these lovely summer treats! Yummy!!

I like mine on thick sliced bread, slathered in butter and toasted, then layered with thick juicy slices of tomato, salt and pepper and a nice amount of gooey melted cheese-pepper jack is my fav. Squash it all together and serve with kettle chips and a cold beer.
