Hello all, I have been stalking this site for awhile but this is my first post. I have some F2 OE that lay brown, if I cross them to a WTB rooster would that give me an OE or would there be other genes that are in play?

Yeah, you will get an OE as long as the WTB has two blue egg genes.

An olive egger is a bird that lays olive, so there is not point in calling your F2 OEs, OEs at all.

Thank you, I Just wanted to clarify that I purchased the birds as OE. I was not sure if it had to be a pure bred brown layer crossed to my WTB, as the crosses I purchased might have different genetics than a "true brown layer".

If they do not lay olive they are not OEs. Whoever who sold them to you couldn't have guaranteed it unless they saw the birds lay olive or the breeds that they crossed we're guaranteed to produce olive layers.
