My first chickens were a flock of OEGB. I had 3 roos and 4 hens. The hens were sweet, one even went broody and hatched out a few really cute standard BR chicks. I loved the hens. The roos on the other hand were horrible. They didnt fight among themselves and were good to their banty hens, but they ganged up on everything else... My young standard BR roo, all the standard hens, my lab mix, but especially people. They were like a pack of little velociraptor dinos... one would distract you by charging you in the front, and as soon as you were focused on that one, the others would jump you from behind. After the second time I had a roo stuck clawing my head and flogging me, they were rehomed with their hens to a farm with an experienced OEG breeder.
If you are going to keep more than one roo, I would suggest finding a breeder that can tell you if his lines are gentle or not. Or someone willing to sell you adult chickens so that you can know what their temperment is like.
