Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Yeah totally. I was just messing around with the pixel art thingy
No, no rush. Maybe... Maybe pick it up as they are moving Eclipse, getting ready for the auction?
Also- perhaps only Eclipse is sold tonight? Is she the only LunarWing in the group?

(Phoenix sighed, watching Robin go. "Corvus will be fine." she said. "He just likes to sulk and mope and brood. I don't know why he's being this way." ) (that quote messed up lol. Also, it’s been a day for the desert group and time hasn’t passed in The Grebes Nest. We might wanna make that happen so it’s not confusing, so we’ll have to skip to morning for King, Phoenix and Corvus and Robin. Soon at least )

King nodded in a friendly, understanding way. “I know….gaah I’m such a jerk. Imma have to have a talk with him, maybe we’ll work things out..” he thought with a stab of guilt.

After catching several fish and helping Phoenix learn how to as well, the two of them eventually found their way back to the village. The sunset cast a brilliant array of pinks and oranges, mixed with the dark blue of the evening sky trying to take over. The mountain village was like a scene from a dream, a safe haven like no one had ever imagined. Even the depths of the lake shone with beauty, the underwater Riverwing village was always a grand sight.
“We’ve got a spot in the village you can stay.” King said, breaking the silence. “Usually it’s for the occasional Solarwing hatchlings we break outa the compounds, we keep ‘em in the village cuz they need more attention. But they don’t tend to stay very long after growing up a bit, apparently they like to live…alone.” He began saying before realizing what he was saying. “Phoenix was half Solarwing, and she ran away from her group. Might not wanna bring that up.” He reminded himself. “Anyway, you can stay there if you’d like. Corvus can stay with my team…or with you, ya know, it doesn’t matter.” He said in his best, “I’m acting completely normal” voice.
“He’ll probably stay with me,” Phoenix said. “More like I’d stay with him. I don’t make the decisions.”

She looked out at the landscape for a few moments, then down at her talons. “Theoretically I should go look for him. That’s what he’d want, but I know he won’t stay gone forever. Ugh that sounds awful of me.” She used the heel of her talon to press between her eyes. She could feel a headache coming on. Too many new things.

Hmm. It's all stupid loose.
6:00 - Auction
6:30 - The first fight. I think a total of fifteen matches, each 5-20 minutes long (20 being a bit much). Mostly SandWing pairs fight against each other- a few singles.
I'd love to RP the fight tonight- but we'll need Kiwi. Is there a good time we will all be on? Since Tobias will have to be very active during the bid.
Okay, so what do we do to get the part going? I'm not exactly sure what the plan is Cap.

How about you RP Eclipse being moved out of the truck yard and to the arena?
It may be simpler to coordinate just Eclipse being sold tonight. They can auction her off before the games, and Tobias will buy her. I can RP the auctioneer, since he and Tobe will be interacting quite a bit.

good heavens I was not paying attention today and now i gotta play catchup again, this is insane haha! i tried to read what i could, but could someone give me a bit of a recap? i think i know what to do with my characters, but i figure I should make sure i didn't misunderstand things lol.
also quick warning to @Yukiko and @Nicole Taber bc Blackout may be dropping in on them soon, along with a couple rainwing friends!! so don't be overly shocked!
also the chaos of our group is just awesome lol
Imma make him hatch soon! Lol

What if eggs hatched on the summer solstice had super great control of their firescales and could control fire? Like a nightwing type power but firey and with the sun? Lol 🤷‍♂️ Just an Idea for ya
ooooooohhhh I can't wait for him to hatch!
Im in Mountain time
I'm in Central standard!

Give me a min I need to figure out how to do this... I'm also open to suggestions lol

Sol flexed his wings, glancing at the clock. 5:30. Auction was at 6. Games were at 6:30-7:00, depending on how intense the bidding went.
He hadn't been in the outdoor arena for a couple months, most fights he attended were in The Den. Only big stuff happened out here, and without fail, nerves always got to him at the last moment.
Tobias sat cross legged against the wall, watching Sol silently.
Sol trotted the perimeter of the arena, looking up at the stands. A domed chain link ceiling separated the dragons from the people, this way fire and flight could be used to an extent.
They had brought sand in, instead of the usual stone floor- most likely for the aesthetic. Sol carefully surveyed the arena, looking for any possible changes from the last time he had competed.
Blinding lights chased every last shadow away, the entire arena lit up incredibly bright, and Sol truly hated it. He also disliked the massive pole in the arena's center, which helped support the domed structure- too many times had that been used against him.
This arena was huge, much different than The Den's regular pit. It always took a few minutes to adjust to.
Sol quickened his pace, loping a full circle, each step scattering the sand around him.
Tobias stood, motioning for Sol.
Sol obliged, trotting up to his friend, stretching as he did so.
"You warmed up?"
"I guess, still got a good hour."
"Stay warm, I want to know you're set- I'll be in the stands for the auction."
Sol nodded, shaking out his wings.
"Your shoulder?"
Sol groaned, "Dude, it's fine, it's a small, small fracture, and all it does is hurt- and I can deal with that. It's not worsening or anything."
Tobias looked skeptical.
Sol grinned, shaking his head and turning a quick circle. "Caaalm. Down."
Tobias' expression didn't change, and he shoved his hands into his pockets, kicking the sand with the toe of his boot.
"Tobe. You're not helping, man. I thought you believed in me." Sol coaxed.
Tobias looked up with a sad smile. "To the death, Sol." He whispered, his smile vanishing.
"Done it before, commander. And guess what- I WON EM." Sol's voice echoed loudly around the arena, a few workers in the stands sending weird looks his way.
"I know, I know, but you had weeks to prepare, I had weeks to evenly deal with anxiety, not just some freaking TWO HOURS. I don't get it." Tobias hesitated, "Actually, no, I  do understand, the SolarWing is your father, right? Isn't that what you said?"
Sol nodded.
"Why haven't you told me to bid on him?"
Sol looked away, taking a shaky breath. "It's a waiting game, pops. I don't know what to think of him. I want to talk to the SolarWing. She knows him."
Tobias repositioned his hat, giving Sol a quick nod, more questions prodding his mind. "K, we'll talk about it later. Assuming.. yeah, we'll talk later."
Sol gave Tobias a cocky grin. "Everyone's going to LOSE their minds when they see me out here."
Tobias suppressed a smile, "Yeah, probably."
He strode towards the large open door, passing beneath it before turning back, "There's a lot riding on this, you know. For- for both of us."
Sol nodded.
Tobias swallowed hard, "Look.." he sighed, "You can do this. I know you actually can do this. But one slip up, mistake," Tobias mimed an explosion, then whispered, "Don't slip up, Sol. Please don't slip up."
Eclipse let out a loud snarl and lunged at the edge of the cage again, reaching a talon between the bars to slash at a nearby human. The creature jumped and backed up, then continued waving on the strange transporter that had backed into the enclosed area. Eclipse crouched low in her cage hissing loudly as the machine continued, moving her small enclosure with it on a large iron base. The building was well lit with more of the unnaturally bright white lights hanging in the ceiling and cages lined the two side walls. All of the ones here had dragons, and they were perfectly marked and spaced to fit new ones in between.
The transport turned and began backing toward one of the walls. Eclipse circled in her cage and swatted at more of the humans whenever they were within reach. The machine finally stopped and several of the humans scurried to the back, grabbing at the long metal ramp that had folded beneath the flatbed. Eclipse snarled again and slashed at them once more, nearly catching a smaller one by the head. Something stabbed into her side, and pain erupted through her scales and into her wing, the jolt knocking her legs from beneath her. She let out a muffled yelp as she collapsed to the floor. One of the scavengers clipped a small hook onto the side of the cage facing the wall. An iron cable ran from the metal catch to a rounded crank embedded in the wall. Eclipse growled again and began to stand up, when suddenly the cage jerked and began to slide forward, pulled by the cable wench. She stumbled and crouched to the floor to keep herself from slamming into the bars as the cage slid into place beside the others. The transport pulled hastily away, steering towards the large door in the side of the building. Eclipse stood there for a long moment, her tail thrashing as she took in her surroundings. There were maybe only 7 other dragons with her, and enough room to fit 4 more. She wondered if Sunspot, Helios, or Neoma would end up in this new place as well. It would be a funny coincidence for the younger Solarwing to end up in the empty space next to Eclipse. Perhaps she could give her a good nick for getting them caught and trapped here in the first place.
Off to her other side, a large doorless entrance opened up to a massive, circular arena. A balcony wrapped all the way around on the same level as the room she was in, and she could see three more of the rooms with cages spaced evenly around them. Beneath that, circular rows of seats encircled the entire perimeter of the space below, steps descending from breaks in the rail of the balcony. Hanging a little ways below the lowest benches, a giant chainlink dome encircled the large sandy arena at the bottom, and a lone iron pole stood in the center, supporting the mass of iron chain. Around the edges of the arena, large iron doors were embedded in the walls beneath the seats. Eclipse assumed they were for keeping dragons to fight.
The sun was beginning to sink now, casting a warm orange haze over the Den, but the giant blazing lights that stood above the arena chased most of it away. Eclipse could see a few groups of humans beginning to settle into the benches that surrounded the battleground, others wandering between the cage rooms. She let out a long breath and slid to the floor of her cage, staring out at the ugly scene. The more time she spent in these human's presence, the more disgusted she was by their way of life.
She was so caught up in her thoughts, that she nearly missed the scavenger that wandered into the room. But the familiar sound of his loud boots echoing through the building alerted her to his presence.

Whitestar had to admit, the little creature was rather entertaining. The longer they talked, the more relaxed he felt. He had never really encountered humans, but from what he knew, dragons assumed that all humans were bad. Perhaps with good reason, but maybe, it was okay for things to change a little. Maybe not all of them were the same. He paused a long moment trying to make out her words. "Ice," he said simply, understanding her difficulty translating his words. He turned his head toward the pool and blew a gentle stream of frost breath onto the surface. Ice crystals shot over the water's top, freezing instantly and spreading, before slowing and finally stopping, forming a small patch of hazy ice over the water. Already, it was beginning to polish and melt from the desert heat and humidity.
"Ice" she translated more easily. She watched in amazement as he blew frost over the pond and it began to freeze. Eyes going wide, she stooped over like a child and began to touch the ice on the pond, her curiosity spilling over. The ice was chilly to her touch, but it was quickly melting into the pond. She racked her brain, but she could only remember hearing a little about them in her classes at school. Her knowledge of them was severely limited. Her head spun back to the dragon, curiosity and excitement shining through the majestic sea blue. "Good! Love that!" she exclaimed in dragon. I never thought I would get a chance to see an ice dragon. This is so cool! She took a step closer to him so that they were an arm's length away. She looked up into his eyes again. "Why you here? You ice. This hot land," she inquired.
