Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Alicanto stared at Ajax for a second.
"You're still here," he said slowly, having fully expected Ajax to have just left him and headed back to the Den. The Cloudwing forced himself out of his muddled thoughts, shifting his gaze back to Vel.
"Yeah, yeah, it's not that bad," he responded, already trying to arrange his talons beneath him. He gritted his teeth against the pain, silently cursing himself for looking so helpless and weak in front of these other dragons.

"Good." Vel gave an obviously forced, toothy smile, shaking her head. She was much too tall to slip under Alicanto's wing and help support him, so she nodded towards Ajax, then waited by the stream.

Tobias took a shaking breath.
Sol dropped his gaze.
"I don't- think.. we have any plans yet." The SolarWing answered quickly. "It all came upon us... Rather fast."
Tobias gave a half hearted nod, sighing as he ran a hand through his dirty hair, rubbing his palm against the pricking hairs lining his cheek. Gosh, he needed to shower.
Sol could tell something was bothering the man, but he didn't want to press the issue. Not right then. So he lifted his gaze and stared down at Crest, forcing to clear his mind of worry. "Crest, do you know anything else about my family? Have I a mother? Siblings?"

@Yukiko
The question Sol asked pained Crest. He really doesn't remember... He couldn't imagine not remembering his family. A thought crossed his mind that made him shudder. What if that happened to him and he didn't remember the incident all those years ago with Minami. He could stop regretting and being angry. He could forget all that had happened. So enticing. No...no that can't happen.
Bringing himself back to the present, he tried to recall the information he'd gathered in the past about the royal families. He remembered reading about a sister and something about the queen. He didn't want to make Sol worried, but he figured honesty would be better than him finding out later. "Yes, Pri-," he stopped himself. "Yes, Sol...you have a mother and a sister. Well...at least..." He paused, trying to get the words out. He looked at the prince's eyes, but slowly looked down. "I've heard rumors that she's dead." He quickly corrected himself, "But, others have told me that they think she's still alive as well. But...Sol...I don't know. All I know is that you have your father. You should ask him when you have the chance." He hoped he didn't stress out the dragon more than he already was.

Whitestar felt his lips start to curl at the snide comment from the guard, but he forced his snarl down, fixing a cold but steady composure on his face. Which, of course, only grew harder as the human continued.
"Dragons like me" don't want anything to do with the abuse you put them through, and it's shocking how blindly you expect them to accept a life like that.
Whitestar's tail lashed as the bitter thought burned through his mind and it took everything he had not to say it aloud, instead, listening in silent fury to the conversation between Austin and the Den guard.
How stupid are these humans?
He thought back to Alyssia, worry slightly dampening his rage. She was the only human he'd seen or even heard of having an ounce of sympathy and understanding for dragons. Why was it so impossibly rare to find one that had all of their screws in place?
And now she was missing, vanished somewhere into the deadly, twisting halls of the Den. And what was Austin doing about it? Running scared for the exit without her. He wasn't really trying.
An idea was slowing bubbling up in Whitestar's mind and he glanced back at the two humans before sidestepping slowly, quietly toward the nearest hall.

The guard looked at him a little skeptically before nodding slowly. "Well, I suggest that you find whoever it is your looking for and get out of the maze. In half an hour, we're doing a full scale sweep of the place to find any stragglers that may have not made it out with the rebellion." He turned to walk away, "And, any dragons of yours or even people that we find alone we will treat as if they were part of the rebellion."
Austin's patience was growing thin but he kept his fake face on. "Of course, that is only fair. I completely understand." But, he didn't understand. He thought of the dead bodies and then saw Alyssia on the ground with them. It's not fair to her. The guilt from before attacked him again, but he dismissed it as childish. He did his job. He was back in the Den.
But was it worth it....
Turning back to the dragons, he saw one missing. "Whitestar!" The idiotic dragon is gonna get himself killed...or worse. Looking desperately down the halls, a thought struck him. He must be looking for Alyssia. Find him, find Alyssia.
Looking back at the other dragons following him, he motioned for them to go with him down one of the halls he chose at random.
If we don't find them quick, we're all dead.

Quiet sobs echoed through the hallway. She'd found a dark hallway to sit in. No one had been in it and she figured none of the guards would be around yet. Though, she didn't care. She just wanted out. She wanted to go home. She never thought any of this adventure stuff would be so difficult, emotional, and...heartbreaking. She'd never been manipulated like that in her life. He used me...just to get back into the Den. And to get a higher position! To think that I may have- She stopped, not willing to admit the way he had charmed her at first. His good looks. His charming personality and his offer of kindness. Her hands clenched into fists and anger boiled into the mixture of the many different emotions in her. Tears still fell down her cheeks as she completely broke down. She tucked her knees to her chest and buried her face in her arms that were wrapped around her knees. She missed her mom...her dad...and her brother.
Atticus...why can't you be here? Why can't you come save me??? I need you...
She felt alone, helpless, and...
Hopeless.
She'd hardly ever felt hopeless. There was nothing she could do. She was at the mercy of Austin and the Den. She didn't know anything about the Den and the only time she'd escaped was out of luck and help from another dragon. She couldn't engineer a way out of the situation this time. She was trapped. Trapped inside a dark pit.
Where the only way out was the person she hated more than anyone in the world at this very moment.

I tagged you because I figured that Whitestar was about to find Alyssia.

I tagged you because I figured that Whitestar was about to find Alyssia.
Whitestar skidded around one of the hallway intersections, hearing his name echo loudly from Austin's voice back the way he'd come.
They were getting nowhere with that self-centered little creature. Alyssia was missing. Bamboo and Apple were in the middle of a dangerous place with little more than Austin's lies to protect them. Blackout wasn't anywhere closer to finding the Lunarwing he'd come for. Citrus, while new to the group, wasn't even close to being free.
And Whitestar didn't even know the first place to start looking for Eclipse. Fear tore at his mind, threatening to drag his thoughts back into the icy whirlwind of panic. She could be dead; Somewhere among the bodies that littered the floors in the Den. That thought terrified him more than anything.
Whitestar slid to a stop at another intersection, his chest heaving, tail lashing. He was already completely lost, and he didn't even know the first place to start looking for Alyssia, let alone the exit after that. He was also pretty sure he wouldn't be able to make his way back to the others if he even wanted to.
Think, Whitestar, come on. What do you have?
He turned a full circle, trying to ignore the few dead humans slouched against the walls.
Strength. That doesn't do me good now, but I can probably survive a fight with some Nigthwings if I had to. Helpful, I suppose. I have ice too. Maybe...
He glanced around, guilt tugging at his chest as an idea began forming in his mind.
I should have done this from the start.
He reached down toward one of the humans and lifted a sharp, metal pole off the ground from beside it. The object looked sort of like a spear, but not exactly long enough and as sharp as would likely be recommended.
"Enchant this... tool to find Alyssia the human," he whispered, not entirely sure why.
The metal rod lifted out of his talons and swiveled in the air like a compass needle, suspended in the air by some invisible force. Whitestar ignored the horrible chill coursing through his veins as the spear shot off down one of the tunnels, the Icewing close behind.
The metal rod whizzed and twisted through the halls, barely slow enough for Whitestar to keep up, and he nearly slid into the walls of the maze several times. He wasn't running for very long though, before he rounded a corner and found the tool stopped in the air, frozen, and hovering less than a foot from the human crouched against the wall.
"Alyssia, thank the moons," he breathed, still panting.
Remove all enchantments on this tool.
The spear clattered to the ground at Alyssia's feet and Whitestar paced toward her, his wings sagging with relief.

(I honestly can't wait to read her reaction to this)

Sol gave a short nod. Part of him did feel rather upset at this, and he wasn't sure why. It seemed a funny thing to be upset over a dragon he had never met. But the more Crest explained about his family, the more he fought the urge dwell on them. He didn't want himself to be led astray, nor distracted. His priority was Tobias.
...
But perhaps... They could simply visit.
But Tobias' life would be in danger.
But perhaps Helios could put out a... Royal order of some sort to protect Tobias.
But even then, Sol did not know how structured the Kingdom of Sun really was. Perhaps it was wild and unruly. Like- like the Scorpion Den.
Gosh, he hoped not. He was so sick of The Den.
He dared not dwell on guilt.

"Yes, Crest, I believe I will. Thank you, my friend." Sol gave a true smile.

(Ayy, @-Shade-, @Yukiko, since we are the three active truck-goers, shall we skip ahead?? To them reached the second Checkpoint?)

Shoot sorry I keep forgetting-

Corvus gave a low hiss, lashing his tail. He knew the mutant wasn’t bluffing. “You can’t garuantee anything though. I don’t think you’d like to risk me dying in transit. Besides, I’m bigger than you. I doubt you can drag my dead weight halfway across the continent if I can’t fly.”
What’s happening here? Lol
Corvus watched the winged shape flap away before releasing a huge breath he wasn’t aware he was holding, wings sagging. He was trembling.

He lingered for a few minutes to collect himself before flying back to Grebes Nest. I have to find Phoenix.

He flew into the breeze to hover, scanning the village below for Phoenix’s coppery feathers.
King was walking beside Phoenix, watching Knight tussle with her crest feathers. “Did you have any siblings? Or younger dragonets in your group? You seem really good with hatchlings.” He asked as they made their way through the now busy streets of the town. Vendors shouted and beckoned them in, offering their goods for various prices. They weren’t demanding or bossy, just eager to sell their wares.
