Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Gosh, thanks Cap. I think my paranoia of the RP dying is because the only other RP I've heard of was watching the three continents go up in smoke so I don't know that that just happens to all RPs eventually or what
But to be fair, I don't think anyone in this RP plays the part of the kid playing with matches so...
Aye. I've never experienced it to that extent until the Three Continents. Most die out hardly noticed.

This RP has morphed me into such a better writer. Like, dang.

Kapok slid to the ground of the transport with a long, dejected sigh, curling into a tight ball and folding his leaf-shaped wings over his head.

Shrike pressed his teeth together and glanced at Dred. He wished the MudWing wasn’t here anymore.
With a proud feeling trying to twist him away from Kapok, the CloudWing stepped over in front of the LeafWing and crouched, battling the embarrassment of Dred’s gaze on his back as he tried to look Kapok in the eyes.
“Hey, look at me,” Shrike said firmly, his brow furrowed.

Kapok lifted a wing, glancing at the Cloudwing curiously, his eyes still glossy.

“Whoever they are that ya left there, we’ll go back and find ‘em, alright?” Shrike said, attempting to keep his tone gentle but knowing he was failing somehow, “after we get outta here we’ll go find ‘em and make sure they’re alright, kay?”

Kapok stumbled back, away from the two other dragons, his eyes unfocused as grief slammed into the forefront of his mind.
How could the Poison Jungle be gone?
The brown dragon sat down heavily, staring blankly at the ground, his head and shoulders drooping like a withered plant.

(literally the most amount of emotion Kapok has ever expressed XD )

The brown dragon could feel the waves of pain coming off of the LeafWing. Shrike grimaced, turning fully around to face Kapok as he tried to look him in the eyes.
“Oh man, Kapok.. I—I don’t know what to say..” Shrike trailed off, unused to comforting anyone. Kapok’s eyes were glazed and his expression was a mixture of shock and numbness.
*Oh heck no..* Shrike thought, hoping that what he imagined wasn’t true. “Did—do you have.. family? There?” He asked in a low voice.

Kapok lifted his gaze to look at the Cloudwing, shock making him slow to process. He hesitated, staring at the small dragon a moment before slowly nodding. His head dropped again and he closed his eyes.

Sage watched them like a hawk. They just stayed there, hovering until finally the blue cloudwing took the lead and took them towards the center of the nest. A frown crossed Sage's scaly face. Making it harder on me, are we? Looks like it's time to play hard ball.
He dropped to all fours and slipped through the underbrush and then launched himself into the sky once again. He flew up to the altitude he had flown at to spy on the other two cloudwings and spread his large wings to glide.
Angling himself downwards towards the four dragons, he followed them, constantly making sure he wasn't too close. He had to know where they were going. That was only way to plan. To plot. To succeed in his mission.

Corvus dove after Phoenix and King, looking over his shoulder and scanning the dark trees. The birds sang and the sun shone. A scene unfitting for everything Corvus was feeling.
An uneasy feeling was crawling slowly up Kings spine, making him shudder inwardly.
Something was very off.
Corvus was Vulture's grandson? Or related somehow, he couldn’t remember what the raven colored dragon had said. But whatever the case that was dangerous for him, for the nest….for ospreys plan.
The barracks came into view as they flew lower and lower, the uneasy feeling fading as they swirled closer to the ground and away from the clouded sky.
A black dragon with red stripes down his wings was posted outside, playing a game of chess with another dragon who wore the colors of a merganser. “Redwing, Hood.” He shouted, gaining their attention. “I need you two on high alert, we may have an enemy on our tails. Don’t sound an alarm unless you see anyone suspicious come over the mountain range.” He ordered and the two immediately nodded and grabbed their weapons, metal claw tips, before heading to the top of the barracks gates.
King looked back at Phoenix and Corvus as he led them inside and into a candlelit room that resembled a bunker of sorts.
He closed the door and turned, the candlelight illuminating his face as if he was a ghost of the shadows. “Talk. Tell me everything.”

Dred sat up and watched curiously. A look of regret crossing his face. How could he have known what kopaks story had been before the den? A family In the jungle?

Kapok stared at Shrike for a long moment, his face darkening with doubt, but he nodded slowly before resting his chin on the ground again and staring past the Cloudwing at the wall behind him. He suddenly felt like all his energy had completely drained and he let out another long, drawn-out sigh.
