Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

King shook his talon, Corvus’s was much smaller and more pristine and clean. He instinctively reached for phoenix’s talon but pulled back as he realized he didn’t want his hand singed.
Instead he dipped his head politely. “Good to meet ya.” He said. “We better git before the humans see us, they’re actually smarter than they look. Follow me and….don’t touch anything wooden, sorry.”
“Got it,” Corvus said cheerfully. “Nice to meet you, King. No forest fires here, we promise.”

Phoenix nudged his wing with hers, hard enough to throw him off balance, her feathers singing his. Corvus yelped. “What was that for??”

Phoenix looked at him through narrowed eyes, whispering fiercely in his ear. “You don’t have to speak for me, you know. I can speak for myself. Enough of this “we” business. Please.” She glanced at the singed feathers on his wing-shoulder apologetically.

“You don’t ever listen to me,” she hissed in frustration, her tail twitching. “This could be a horrible idea.”

Despite her suspicion at the Solarwing's sudden change of tone, Eclipse stood up and began pacing up the rise toward the tunnel. She gestured with one wing for the dragon to follow.
"Actually one of the Nightwings you were "handling"," she replied with a note of sarcasm. "The only one that was smart enough to retreat"
She figured it was better not to mention it was actually the only one that escaped.
"I figure he will be back with reinforcements to retrieve his hunt soon--if they are not there already. You will make a perfect distraction, and all I have to do is slit the lizards through. No problem--easy in, easy out."
Sunspot laughed drily. “You know what, you’re growing on me, stranger. I realize I never did catch your name?” She tilted her head.

“Your plan seems clear enough. I see no problem,” said the SolarWing, feeling a grudging respect for the silver dragon. This could be a useful alliance… but she wasn’t sure the moon dragon could be trusted yet.

“Ok bluegill, hold tight. You two follow me, and fly fast.” He said seriously. King opened his wings and shot out of the underbrush, a flurry of leaves trailing the air behind him. Several darts and nets came too close for comfort, but King dodged them expertly and flew high enough so they didn’t need to worry, not about darts at least. But apparently the humans recognized him, because they took out the big guns. Bullets started whizzing by and one clipped his right foreleg, leaving a gash. He pretended not to notice and flew on. “Hurry, they’re getting desperate.” He called to Corvus and phoenix.

Corvus and Phoenix arranged themselves in their most efficient flying arrangement, Phoenix ducking below and behind Corvus the heat from her wings lifting him, and her riding the wind in his wake. The dragons twisted and dove, avoiding various projectiles as they followed King.
Phoenix beat her way forward, allowing King to use her thermal heat to his advantage. She heard Corvus hiss and looked back. A bullet had clipped the leading edge of his wing, and crimson droplets scattered in the air as his powerful black wings pumped. She noticed King had been hit as well.

Eclipse cocked her head toward the Solarwing at an angle that emphasized her right gold-ringed eye. An old habit of pride--that one little stand-out in her color theme and the purpose of her name.
"Eclipse," she said, pulling her wings up tight. "And you are...?"
She led the way up onto the rise and turned toward the half-crumbled boulder.

“Sunspot,” said the golden dragon. “…Eclipse. A fine name. It fits.”
She paused for a moment, sensing a wrongness in the air. It seemed to be emanating from the broken boulder ahead.

They all road the air currents from then on, making good time. After maybe half an hour of steady flight, King could easily see the high mountains that made up the valley where he lived. “You guys alright? Corvus, was it? Looks pretty nasty…” he said, noting the red gash filled with now dry blood.

Corvus twisted his head to look at his wing, gritting his teeth. “Yeah-“ he said. “It’s fine, it’s just a surface wound.”

Phoenix nodded, watching Corvus carefully. She knew he was playing it off, acting tough in front of the stranger.

(I'm waiting on doing Neoma's part for a short bit bc she's currently asleep- it's so hard to wait lol! the only thing is i need to know exactly where everyone is. I also need to decide whether she's going to encounter King and Corvus and Phoenix first, or Eclipse and Sunspot. Knowing where y'all are would probably help. Then I'll probably go to whoever is closest to the Ice kingdom which is where Neoma has just landed.)

We’re near possibility, pretty much the center of Pyrrhia! So….😬
I think eclipse and sunspot are in the jungle, with a way to the desert, so probably closest?
