Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Sunspot had already burst into flames and she looked around at the chaos. “WHAT IS HAPPENING.” She yelled, circling higher to get a better look at the NightWing’s approaching. She spotted Eclipse snatch up the little human and dove down to her. “WHY ARE WE TAKING THE LUNCH WITH US?? A snack for later??? PUT IT BACK you’re gonna get us all killed! They’re probably searching for her or something and they’ll never let us go!”

Everyone looked VERY UPSET and Sunspot was not having it.

“Quit flapping around and being stupid!” She yelled, flames licking around her scales and angry smoke rising. “There’s four of us, all of us with abilities NightWings don’t have, we should go and take the fight to them instead of running like COWARDS.” She looped off in the direction of the hunters, looking back to see if the others will follow.
"SUNSPOT GET BACK HERE" Eclipse roared whipping around toward the flaming dragon. "We can't fight them all! You are gonna get us killed you crazy flammable lizard!" She swooped toward the sand dropping the human onto the dunes before rising again, beating her wings ferociously in the direction Sunspot was headed. "Sunspot stop!"
Too late. The Nightwings were already on top of them. Eclipse had no clue if Helios or Neoma were following, or if they had decided to take her advice and fly toward the mountains.
Eclipse folded her wings in and spiraled sideways out of the way of one of the Nightwings as his talons slashed toward her head. She flared her wings to slow down pulling another set of iron claw extensions from a pouch on her neck. She twisted upside down and lock claws with another Nightwing that descended toward her, kicking her in the stomach and flipping the black dragon over her head with a snarl of rage. She folded her wings in again, trying to control her fall as she lost balance from the collision, and she heard several of the human riders open fire with their guns. She swept upwards again, trying to gain a higher advantage. One of the Nightwings pivoted to intercept her and she twisted again, dropping beneath the dragon and raking the iron claws down his stomach. The black dragon floundered toward the sand with a howl of pain and Eclipse hovered in the air for a moment trying to get her bearings. More gunfire erupted in the air and she instinctively ducked and lunge sideways. Pain tore through the membrane on her wing and she hissed, angling downward and twisting her neck to see. One of the projectiles from the weapons had caught the fold between two of her wing spokes and left a singed gaping hole in the membrane. She flared her wings to avoid hitting the sand and skipped off a dune to launch herself back into the air. Every time she beat her wings, she felt the hole tear a little more and she clenched her teeth in pain. Eclipse twisted her head around to look up at the Nightwings. Three more had broken away, descending after her as she tried to regain some altitude. Silver warping flowed from the scales beneath her eyes and formed into two large blades, which shot at the approaching dragons. One of them dodged the warping but crashed into the sand in the process. The second managed to stay airborne, but couldn't avoid the blade completely, and it stabbed into her wing shoulder. But the third was almost on top of Eclipse now. She tried to assemble more warping in time, but the black dragon swatted the unsolidified mess with his wings before dropping onto Eclipse's shoulders knocking her out of the air, and pinning her to the sand. She felt a talons press on the back of her neck behind her skull, forcing her snout into the sand. She struggled fiercely, trying to pull her limbs from beneath her to reach the Nightwing, but he pressed down harder.
"I remember you," a deep raspy voice sounded above her, and she felt her blood turn to ice. "You're that pathetic dragonet I thought I'd finished all those years ago," the Nightwing sneered with a small laugh. "Looks like your little expedition ends here."
His claws slowly reached down and curled in toward her throat, and Eclipse closed her eyes, waiting for the final strike.

(Sorry if that was long, I got really into the battle. Also, I need someone to now come save Eclipse please lol)

“And I’m the stupid one??” Snarled Sunspot, watching Eclipse struggle. She dodged a volley of bullets before twisting upwards and diving with an exasperated hiss. She upped the heat, an intense glow glaring off her scales. She hit the bigger NightWing with enough force to knock him off of Eclipse, using her wings and the force from her dive to punch him squarely in the ribs, leaving two smoking scorch marks on the NightWing’s dull scales.

She was tackled from the side, but the dragon attacking her leapt away with a strangled yelp and looked at his hissing, bubbling talons in horror, beginning to scream. Sunspot grinned at him through narrowed eyes before twisting and lunging at another hunter, a dart zipping past her ear. She flung out her wings in front of her, the blades extending and neatly slashing the throat of the other dragon. A quick burst of bright orange flames tinged with blue finished the hunters human rider.

(I think we’re skipping to the morning, but I’ll just answer this real quick.)

“Do I look like I care what your name is?” Shrike huffed, and stood up stiffly to turn his back on the dragon when Shane walked over and slammed on his cage. The CloudWing tried not to jump in fright. “FINALLY sold you, you useless featherbag.” He said gallantly, though Shrike hardly understood a word of what he’d said. “You two as well.” The burly man said, looking between Kapok and Dred. “And at a pretty good price too!”
“Dang it, what’s happening?” Shrike growled, and an hour later, they’d been moved by Shane’s crew to a large, empty room. Escape impossible now.

Shrike had been sulking in his cage when Tobias walked in. His feathers raised at the man’s rough Dragon; so this was his new.. ‘person who paid to take personal responsibility for him and yes technically was his owner Shrike didn’t want to call him that.’
“That’s a nice little act you got goin on there.” The CloudWing griped, not sure if Tobias could understand him or not.
Tobias stopped, turning back to the dragon with a half smile, trying to piece together his gruff, fast words.
He thought for a moment. “A actor,” he said in English, “you are an actor. A bad actor.”
"Oh!" Tobias laughed, grinning kindly. "Yes. Verrry bad." He replied in Dragon, hoping his accent wasn't too thick. "Do you speak English?" He asked in Dragon as he turned back to the freezer, heaving the top open with a loud creak.

Eclipse felt a blast of heat engulf her and the Nightwing and suddenly the weight on top of her vanished. She gasped and scrambled to her feet. Blinking sand out of her eyes, she watched Sunspot slash one of the Nightwing's throat with her wing fans and then unleash a stream of flames around him. The Nightwing she had knocked off Eclipse was hovering in the air above, two giant bubbling scorch marks embedded on his chest. With a rough breathless snarl, Eclipse launched herself at the Nightwing, her iron claws digging into his wings and she snapped at his neck. Her jaws closed on empty air, but her teeth grazed his scales. He lost his balance from the extra weight on his wings and toppled back to the sand, landing sideways and sending Eclipse tumbling across the ground. She quickly regained her footing and lept at him again. He angled himself sideways, leaning into the impact, and Eclipse caught onto his side. She dug her claws into his scales and bit down on his spines, mad with rage. The Nightwing howled in pain and began floundering over the sand, shaking himself and beating his wings in an attempt to throw her off. Eclipse felt flesh tear beneath his claws and she lost her grip, landing sharply on her wing. Pain burned through her shoulder as she heard a sickening snap from the joint. She forced herself to her feet again and realized she had landed near Sunspot. Another Nightwing dove at the back of the Solarwings head, and Eclipse sent another warping blade at the dragon's chest. She shifted so that she was facing the opposite direction as Sunspot, the two of them fighting back to back.
"Now we're even," she called over her shoulder, slashing her iron claws over another Nightwings eyes.
She glanced up desperately. She wasn't sure if she hoped more that Helios and Neoma had fled, or if they had come to help. Dread crept up her spine as she watched the flock of Nightwings around them. She wondered if she would actually make it out this time.

“Nice save,” Sunspot called over her shoulder as a dragon with a silver blade embedded in her head collapsed behind her. She felt a strange surge of excitement and adrenaline in the heat of the battle, knowing Eclipse had her back and grinned. “We’re amazing!“ she crowed. But she shouldn’t celebrate too soon. The two dragons were quickly being surrounded by dark scaled enemies, like a dark void filling the warm and bright desert.

"Don't... celebrate... yet," Eclipse panted, out of breath, as she smacked a Nightwing across the jaw with her one good wing. She was exhausted already, and the pain in her wings was getting distractingly worse. She knew she couldn't fly if she tried. If they couldn't drive off or kill all the Nightwings, there was no way for Eclipse to get out of this. No matter how hard she tried to suppress it, she knew, she was scared. She felt hopeless. It was enough to drain all the fight and strength from her, and she felt like she was about to collapse. About to give up. But one thought--the thought that there was a dragon out there that needed her--was enough to drive her on. Even if it hurt. Even if it killed her.
She let out an audible snarl as her mind ran circles around these thoughts, biting down on another hunter's wing as he tried to claw her throat. Her tail brushed against Sunspots as they fought and she hissed, jerking forward, the Nightwing's limb still caught between her teeth. She twisted her head sharply, snapping the bone before letting go and rearing on her back talons, swiping at the dragon's face. As he floundered away, a large weight landed, once again, on her back, and she let out a loud snarl.
"Little help here Sunspot!"

Sunspot twisted and, taking in a massive breath, yelled “DUCK!”

She shot a jet of flame over Eclipses head, engulfing the attacking NightWing. The SolarWing charged foreward with a roar, slashing one wing outward and slashing her blades across the NightWing’s side. The black dragon turned on her as a series of bright red lacerations appeared along his scales, snarling.

“Just try it!” She snarled. “Come at me, you coward!”

The dragon left Eclipse prone on the sand and took a step closer to Sunspot before letting out a burst of flame, which engulfed Sunspot.

She cackled. “You really thought!” She false-lunged at him, scales flaring dangerously, and the hunter snarled and joined the roaring flock surrounding them.

“Blazing suns” Sunspot growled, moving to defend Eclipse, who looked utterly spent, bleeding from multiple nasty wounds. Sunspot knew she was great but she knew she couldn’t fight off this many dragons.
