Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

okay after four hours and balancing babysitting and trying my first digital dragon art, here’s Apple…. I’m a little nervous!!! I hope y’all like her, i spent a lot of time and stuff on her! Ngl I’m ACTUALLY a lil nervous…. This is my first time ever doing dragon art on procreate haha
I’m just really proud of her too tho 😆
Apple the Rainwing!!!
That’s really good!

Also.. where are the forms for um, Apple and Bamboo? 😅

Eclipse watched the dragonet, feeling a flicker of defensiveness as Tobias reached toward her. The Rainwing poked her in the wing experimentally and then stared at her, waiting for a reaction. Eclipse knew her warping was practically useless, but maybe it would entertain the young one a little, even if it was just a mess of floating liquid metal. She focused on the scales that surrounded her eyes and dotted around her horns. Silver liquid began flowing gently from them, and Eclipse tried desperately to ignore the intensifying vibrating in the band around her neck. The metal broke up into clumsy globs of light, hovering and shifting like suspended raindrops. The buzzing gradually became more and more violent, and Eclipse held the warping as steady as she could for the dragonet, clenching her teach against the pain. After what felt like an eternity she finally let go, letting the liquid drift softly to the ground, closing her eyes against the throbbing headache that had sprung into her skull. She wasn't exactly sure why she had done that. Maybe just to provide something special and beautiful to this dragonet, a moment that the young one could enjoy in this terrifying place. The pain was worth it if it meant she could provide someone else a speck of joy.

Tobias didn't move, staring at the LunarWing in shock.
"Wren," Gongll whispered. "Wren, come."
The dragonet turned quicky and squeezed through the cages, bounding towards the humans.
"I see there's much to learn about LunarWings." Tobias laughed gently, perhaps a bit awkwardly as he stood.
"Ay, well, Tobias, I have to go."
"Oh, yeah, no problem, sweet. Thanks for coming, Gongll. I'm sure Sol would appreciate it- if he wasn't a drugged mess at the moment."
Wren bounded towards the door, giving Tobias an excited look.
"Can you call me Roe?" She asked.
To be honest, Tobias struggled to call anyone by their first name if a last name was existing. "Uhm, oh, yeah. Sure, Roe." He winked as he rushed towards the door, opening it a moment later.

Sol stirred, hazy scenes from the arena playing through his mind.
He wanted to pull himself out of the groggy muck, wanted to wake up. He was sleeping. Right?
It was hard to make sense of anything, voices seeped into the back of every slow thought, then they were gone, and he was gone, and everything was too much.
He had to be dreaming. Or dying. Or... Augh, back to nothingness. He wanted to give up, but there was nothing TO give up. He shuddered, sinking into the gloom.

I have two characters I'm going to add... they're twins and come as a package deal lol!
Get ready to welcome.... Apple and Bamboo!!!

Name(s): Apple and Bamboo!
Gender(s): Apple: Female. Bamboo: Male
Age(s): 20
Tribe: Rainwings
Physical Appearance:
- Apple:
Average size, pinkish-red over most of her body but with swirls of yellow-green and deep maroon. (Look up a picture of a pink lady apple for clarification if needed, that's where I got those colors lol) She's blind, so she has milky-white eyes. Has a white sloth pet always clinging to her, whose name is Ivory. Apple's claws are a strange yellow-green shade, like Bamboo's colors.
- Bamboo: Average size. His body is soft green with shading of the same yellow shade as Apple. His eyes are light pinkish red, like Apple's scales. Claws are black.
Personalities:
- Apple:
Smart and sensible. Soft-spoken and rather shy. Well-spoken in both Human and Dragonese. Gets along with almost everyone she meets, due to her kind and thoughtful nature. Thinks of a way past nearly every obstacle she comes across. Has a huge heart and hates knowing someone is hurt, which has led her to practice some healing arts. She is heavily relied on by both her family and any tribe-members that need healing. She has a beautiful singing voice, and loves nature. She balances out with Bamboo, reminding him to be serious and careful. She takes his jokes and stuff well, having a calm but firm handle on things. She loves her silly brother with everything, and though she talks about how stupid he is, knows he can be very smart when it comes to it and would rather see the world end than him leave her.
- Bamboo: He's a ditz. He can be really dumb sometimes, and can get in the way if he's not careful. Loves to fight, but is awful at it, because he has no training. He could be good at it because he's quick to learn, but doesn't have the focus to concentrate on something for long. Smiles a lot, and loves to lounge in the sun. He's a goof and will do whatever it takes to cheer someone up. He helps Apple lighten up when she's sad. Also a bit of a practical joker. Though he wouldn't say it to her face, he would die without hesitation for Apple. He loves her so much, even though he's always teasing her and doing stupid stuff and getting in her way.
Backstory: Bamboo and Apple were hatched from the same egg, and the tribe was thrilled with healthy twins. They've grown up happy and healthy in their group of Rainwings. They love life in the tribe, but Bamboo had always read of the old adventures. He would read them aloud to Apple, and she could hear the longing in his voice to go on an adventure of his own. She knows that he'll jump at the chance to go on an adventure, and silently, she's made up her mind that she'll go with him to the ends of the earth.
Their motto reflects their mindset; Born together, live together, laugh and cry together. Go together, arrive together, Die together.
Other: Bamboo plays the harp, and Apple loves to sing with it. Sometimes he will join in with harmony, and they will sing old tales together. They often finish each others sentences, thinking along the same lines.
Apple is a serious, softspoken, laid-back dragon, but she has a silly side that Bamboo knows well and she lets out sometimes when she feels like it. Similarly, Bamboo has a serious and wise side that he presents in the correct situations. They aren't good at fighting, especially Apple. Apple knows Braille (the dragon version.... I can't remember what Tamarind called it) and reads what things she can that are written in it.

That’s really good!

Eclipse curled back up on the floor, listening to the humans chatter to each other as they walked away. She was a little sad to see the dragonet leave so quickly, bounding after the humans as if they were her parents, but at least the young one was free to go where she wanted for the most part. Eclipse turned her head to look over at Sol. There was still so much she wanted to ask him, but it seemed that she would have to wait for now. Maybe Tobias could answer a few things for her. But there was a question she wanted to ask the Solarwing personally.
Why had he risked so much, just to bring her here? And why was this place anything worth being brought to?

Kapok watched the whole thing curiously from where he lay on the floor close to the freezers. The Lunarwing was apparently more important than he'd previously thought, and mysterious. He couldn't help but be as amazed as the rest of them as the liquid metal hovered and shifted, like someone had taken all the gravity out of a puddle water. The little Rainwing dragonet seemed to be attached to her human, and Kapok wondered shallowly if maybe Tobias was telling the truth, and these two just might be some of the only humans in the whole Den that truly cared.

Tobias sat down beside Sol, watching the red dragon twitch in his sleep.
After a few minutes he looked away, meeting Kapok's gaze, "So- anyone down for getting some practice in? Got to get ready for Team Rally." He stood, taking his hat off and setting it down gingerly beside Sol. "Pok, how's those scales doing, buddy?"

Yeah, sorry dude, you’re actually just dying- not daydreaming.

Danke schön Josh for the forms!

Kapok pushed himself up, arching his spine in a long stretch. The burning in his scales had eased significantly, though there was still an uncomfortable sting whenever they brushed against something. Like a bad rash more than burn anymore. He tilted his head questioningly at Tobias.

@Blue Raptor I need Shrike to translate Kapok "question"

“Team rally?” Shrike questioned Tobias after glancing over at Kapok, asking for the two of them. “What the heck is that? You expect me ta fight with this misfit bunch? And Sol?” He huffed grouchily.
