What did you want me to do?Hi I'm back. @_-Captain BRM-_ Tobias and Jabez...
Eclipse blinked at Tobias in confusion for a moment, taken aback by the sudden change of subject. She locked gazes with him and saw the worrisome look in his eyes, understanding slowly dawning on her. "The silver... oh--the warping. Yes, it's--it's a skill all Lunarwings are born with. These scales," she pointed to the ones that traced beneath her eyes, "Create the metal as a liquid at first and it can harden on command. It will alter to any shape a Lunarwing focuses on and then harden when it reaches that shape. It takes lots of concentration and practice to perfect, and most use it primarily for weapons as they are usually very simple but effective. Although, my brother told me stories of the ancients, who used to be able to create entire sculptures and tools and dishes from it, and knew how to command it to never dissolve." Eclipse felt a brief pang at the mention of her brother, but she shoved it away.Sol stared wordlessly at the ground, a forlorn look in his eye.
"Hey, hey- Eclipse, what was that, uh... The silvery liquid shenanigans? Explain that. Please." Tobias asked, changing the subject.
Is the note still on the door? I don't know what happened- where is the resistance dragon? The Tobias and The resistance worker can talk about helping the dragons escape.
Um the note is gone but I am pretty sure the dragon is still looking in the window. Is the note still on the door? I don't know what happened- where is the resistance dragon?
Neoma listened in slight shock, but as she listened, a flame erupted in her belly. Not at the other dragons here; they were forced to fight too.
With no more reason to hold back, she quickly snapped her muzzle, and opened her jaw, relishing in the freedom for the first time in days. Now it would look like the other dragon had also removed it as well.
"There doesn't seem to be a whole lot that's 'right' here." She hissed, tossing the dragon off her. She stood quickly, shaking her head and getting reaccustomed to having a free jaw.
Neoma glanced at the smaller dragon.
Kyler.
Kyler was small when he died.
She stumbled back.
Death.
She had just killed another dragon not long ago. She wouldn't do it again. But could she trust them? They might be luring her in to trick her and win...
Her life couldn't rest on stranger's words.
She growled lowly and commanded her Warping, forming it into the blade. She sped it forward, stopping it as it pricked the adult's throat.
"Prove your reliability." She snarled, a few feet away, staring the grown dragon down. She felt the smaller one watching her, and had to resist the urge to cry out; being so close to a small dragon and knowing she had the power to kill her was insane.
It made her feel like Milza.
Is this the power she felt? The normality of murder?
In her intense thought, she accidently drove the blade forward, eliciting a drop of blood from the Rainwing's throat.
Neoma froze. That wasn't her intent.
The Nightwing's face burned across her vision, and she stumbled back with her blade faltering. She panted and looked panickedly between the two dragons.
I won't kill them. No. No no no. I won't be Milza.
War in her head, battles in front of her, death all around.
She shook her head, red stars tossing at the edge of her sight.
And it all went silent.
There was no sound.
She was alone in darkness.
One word flashed across her vision now.
Survival.
Whether that meant working with the others or killing them, she was going to have to get used to death.
Everything snapped back into place. A clarity was in her mind. She didn't want to kill, but she knew now:
Survival was her only goal.
Neoma gave a tiny smile, dangerously confident.
If she had to kill to survive, she would.
Neoma hissed.Jyn lifted her back leg slowly, trying to retreat from the blade, her eyes wide in shock. "What do you want to know?" She asked slowly, shaking her head slightly at Qi'ra, feeling the blade prick deeper into her neck.
The crowd stared, everyone aghast at the strange weapon the LunarWing has created.
The gates behind her opened, and Jyn winced, feeling the blade dig a big deeper as another dragon was released. She didn't dare move her head- she knew who it was anyway.
Wanda dipped her head at the LunarWing, rushing to Jyn's side. "This isn't a kill match." She tried, shaking her head at the LunarWing, "Please, stop." She lifted her talons towards the blade.
Apple listened to Alyssia eagerly ask if she could share her plan, and stepped closer to her so she could hear her more clearly. She faced the direction of Blackout and Whitestar, and offered to translate properly.
Near her, Bamboo grinned proudly. He loved watching her be in her element of doing things with her mind. She had always been the smart one.
He looked back at Blackout and Whitestar. He hoped he could trust them; but his want for an adventure outweighed his concern.
Apple was secretly excited too.
She laughed as Blackout corrected himself, and signalled the human that it was alright to speak now.
She was still smiling inwardly at the embarrassment of the Nightwing though... It was kinda silly how he apologized so much and seemed so aware of his actions.
Kinda nice, really.
*Blackout will be in the same part bc it's so short*
Blackout respected the two of them for their dedication to each other. As the little human squeaked some things out, Apple asked if she could translate.
Gratefully, Blackout nodded at the pretty Rainwing. Remembering she couldn't see him, he blushed, slightly embarrassed.
"Sorry sorry... I meant yes!" He stammered out.
Apple laughed lightly, then turned her head back towards the small human. Blackout watched her, glad his scales couldn't reflect his embarrassment at forgetting she was blind.
His mind jumped to the mission.
They were going to rescue the dragons in the Den.
For some reason, the one Lunarwing kept popping into his mind.
He saw his own fear and desperation for normalcy in her eyes.
He wanted her out. He wanted to know if she was okay. He knew she wasn't from the way she appeared and begged him to kill her in the battle, and for some reason, he couldn't get past it.
Seeing the nod from the others, Alyssia took a quick glance at Apple to make sure she was ready to translate. She took a deep breath, adrenaline beginning to pump through her from the excitement. "Alright! So, from everything that I've been told and what I know about these kinds of places, I've put together a sort of....plan. With the help of these new dragons, I believe we can infiltrate quite easily. So, what we'll do is this. We'll find a guard near the outside of the Scorpion Den, and, with the help of the Apple and Bamboo's camouflage, we could sneak in just enough into it to capture a guard. Then, using the guard - aka threatening him to help us - we'll have him get us inside and we will act undercover. Using you 4 as the dragons "we own" we'll go into the Scorpion Den and buy the others as they are auctioned off. If we can buy them, then we can just be on our way."Whitestar nodded at Alyssia as Apple translated her words. He glanced over at Blackout and noticed his expression darken. The Nightwing looked lost in thought, and Whitestar could only figure it was something of the Scorpion Den, or perhaps the recent battle. Maybe both.
"We will fix all of this," he said quietly to Blackout. "Don't let yourself get dragged into the guilt, or you will never find the strength to overcome it and do the right thing. What's passed is passed. We all have our darkside. But you can't let it take over you."
King eventually left Phoenix with a kind goodnight and a smile, walking slowly around the towns edge toward the center. The sun was gone now and the lanterns lit the street just enough to walk at night comfortably. His talons clacked along the wooden floors that were installed in the team headquarters as he walked inside, the rest of his team had already headed to bed and he knew he should do the same. His bed lay between Herons and Redwings and he tried not to wake them as he crawled into it. He curled his tail around himself and pulled his wings in close, closing his eyes and sighing. He tried not to think about all the ways the day could’ve gone better, especially the parts with Corvus. Finally sleep took him and he rested, although not that well.
His dream came again of the hatchery. The egg looked so cold and lonely in the room by itself. The cracks and indents in the shell made King sick with guilt. He could hear himself talking in the dream. “Please be ok, lil egg. ….Gosh I’m such an idiot.”
The egg glowed slightly as he approached, wiggling for a moment. He stepped closer and put a talon on the egg, feeling the tiny *thump thump thump* of a heartbeat and the warmth of a dragonet inside. As his talons left the eggs surface, it seemed to glow ever so brightly, the light flooding his dream and causing him to wake.
“Maybe I should check on the egg….” He thought groggily.
Crest's heart skipped a beat when he heard the king say a human. He remembered the human that he was with when the nightwings attacked back in the sea kingdom. The same one that he had seen trying to escape this retched place. He wasn't sure if she had actually escaped or whether she was killed while trying to get away. "You said you found a human?" he asked, trying to hide the excitement but also fear in his voice. Then, he added, "What did her eyes look like?"
Kapok turned and glared at Shrike with a loud huff, ruffling the feathers on the back of the Cloudwings head.
@Blue Raptor
“Oh stop it thickhead,” Shrike snarled, sweeping his tail away from Dred. “An enough with your weird obsession with mud.”
“Okay, okay,” Shrike said, turning to face the LeafWing. “An I’m not arguing, I’m debating. There’s a difference. An I’m right by the way.”
Kapok rolled his eyes and flicked Shrike hard in the shoulder with his tail, before pointing toward Tobias, who was stitching Eclipse's torn wing.
Dred rolled his eyes again and stood up, walking slowly over to a spot on the floor closer to Mr. Tobias and Sol, and the Lunarwing. He listened intently, imagining a city of old made of silvery metal with towers reaching into the sky, gleaming brightly in the sunlight. And a whole tribe of powerful silver moon dragons. “If only they were still around, we’d be able to escape this place with their help no problem.”Thanks!
“What?” Shrike snapped, exasperated by the whole situation to pay much attention to what the burly dragon meant. “I can’t read your mind ya know.”
Oooh she had a brother?! That’s cool!Eclipse blinked at Tobias in confusion for a moment, taken aback by the sudden change of subject. She locked gazes with him and saw the worrisome look in his eyes, understanding slowly dawning on her. "The silver... oh--the warping. Yes, it's--it's a skill all Lunarwings are born with.
