Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Phoenix flew over Grebes Nest, catching a thermal and rising in lazy circles. Why was Corvus being so picky? Why should she care if he didn’t like someone just because he was jealous?

She gritted her teeth, smoke rising from her feathers. She assumed he’d stormed off to mope. Again.

Phoenix scanned the village below, watching the busy paths filled with scales and feathers. As she neared the center of the town, she spotted Kings distinctive blue feathers. She wondered if he was busy.

She spiraled down anyways and landed in the town center. She hoped to not draw too much attention to herself, and hurried up to King. She hesitated a few steps away, wondering if this was a good idea.

I regret what happened to Gongll.
What was that supposed to mean? She couldn’t be dead…not now, not after all this. What became of her dragons? Jyn? Qi’ra? This wasn’t happening.
It couldn’t be.

Tam….is Roe….?” She asked softly, a far away look in her eyes. Who else had perished unknown to her so far?
Ferrin gave Rose a weary glance, trying to read her. Exhaustion tugged at the dragon's expression, her eyes appearing distant, unfocused. "It's okay, Rose." He assured in a rare, comforting tone, removing his glasses as he tried to meet her gaze. "We can talk once I've finished." Rose didn't need more grief to dwell on. Grief was a dangerous thing, Ferrin had seen it first hand- grief broke the strongest of men, grief broke heroes. The ever dwelling blame. The ever nagging regret. "It's okay, Rose." Ferrin repeated, putting his glasses back on in one swift motion. He squinted at her gutted leg with a heavy sigh.
After a quick clean, Ferrin wrapped Rose's leg tightly, trying to slow the bleeding. It was bad. He was quite certain she'd never walk on the leg again. But he'd know more in the lab, assuming they made it out the The Maze.
Gables had finally seemed to calm down, through he was still quite hostile towards Ferrin. As the doctor collected his tools, Fracture lifted her head from where she had been resting against the wall, her eyes locked on the door.
Gables snorted. "Let me guess."
She rolled her eyes, "Well, if you would prrefer no warrning, I'd be happy to oblige."
"Nono, I just don't understand how you can hear freaking anything in through a solid concrete-"
"It is the vibrrations, Gables." Fracture gave a small, condescending smile, nodding towards Jabez, who lifted his head quite suddenly, glancing at the humans before fixing his gaze on the door. "Perrhaps if you spent less time with your irrrational angerr you could focus on the prresent?"
"Perhaps if you had a spark of empathy in that big- barbaric head of your's you might understand this thing called 'grief.'"
Fracture remained expressionless, her gaze now on the door, and Gables scoffed. Ferrin stood when the door opened, watching with a slightly amused air as Tobias was dragged into the cell. Both Fracture and Gables hesitated, but when one of the guards moved to drop him, Gables stepped forward, sending Fracture an annoyed glance as he embraced Tobias' trembling body. The guards stayed for a moment, Gables staring them down as Tobias shook in his arms.
"What did you do to him." It was more of a statement than a question, every word a mix of rage and worry as Gables clung to Tobias.
One of the guards exited the cell, waiting by the door for his companion, who glanced at Tobias halfheartedly, as if he wanted to say something, but with a shake of the head he decided against it, stepping out of the room and shutting the door a moment later. The moment the door closed, Fracture rushed to Gables side, supporting Tobias.
"Gosh, he's dead weight." Gables grunted, taking a few steps further into the cell, then lowering Tobias to the ground.
Ferrin's eyes were drawn to Tobias' forearm, which was looking much better than before, though the skin had turned a sick grey, bruises forming around every needle puncture. Tobias' breaths came in short and panicked, a slight bit of a hysterical edge shaping every gasp, his eyes bright with fever.
Ferrin frowned. "Get him to calm down. He doesn't understand what's happening."
Fracture gently felt Tobias' blood crusted shirt, meeting Gables eyes. This was bad. This was very bad.
"I said calm him down." Ferrin snapped, reaching for his bags. "I'll be right there."
Tobias flinched at every movement, his skin hypersensitive to even the lightest touch.
"Tobe. Hey, Tobe." Gables started with an uncertain, comforting smile. "You're safe, man."
"I say we knock him out and be done with it." Fracture announced, and Ferrin sucked in a sharp breath, shaking his head as he opened Rose's cell door, "Ah, no." He gave Fracture a critical look, and she shrugged, rolling her eyes as the doctor slipped into the hallway, closing the door behind him.
"Tobe, calm down." Gables whispered, his full attention now devoted as he brushed sweat soaked hair off Tobias' forehead.
Fracture withheld another annoyed scoff, stepping back as Ferrin entered the small cell, grimacing. Tobias pushed his left arm tightly against his rib cage, staring up at the ceiling, chest heaving with every strangled gasp.
Gables gave Ferrin a nervous look.
Ferrin opened his mouth to say something, then stopped, turning to retrieve a bottle of water from his bag. He tossed the bottle to Gables as he knelt down beside Tobias. "Get him to drink that."
Fractured started to say something, but Ferrin interrupted her with an indignant huff, "I am not going to knock him out, if we can revive him enough to be half alive on our journey out of here, everything will be much simpler. With all the distractions, his finger print may still be in the database, and if not, he knows codes, assuming they haven't been changed."
Gables shifted himself over, leaned against the wall, and propped Tobias' head on his lap. Tobias had finally begun to calm, his breathing evening out, the unfocused haze in his eyes dissipating.
Ferrin began to unbuttoned Tobias' shirt, pausing when a hand gripped his shoulder. He glanced up at Fracture with a slight groan of annoyance. "What."
"When arre we escaping?"
"Once the chaos slows down, you lot will have The Den's full attention. We leave tonight."
"Impossible. Look at Rrose. Tobias is dying."
Ferrin sighed. "We don't have a choice."
"I-.. how on earrth.."
Ferrin's attention turned back to Tobias. "I don't know."

This is way too long, sorry.

@_-Captain BRM-_ Help, idk what to do for the speed chase now. They got the door closed but I don't know what to do next cause they are still being chased and I have zero experience with this sorta stuff
I can't believe your saying this, you're so freaking creative!! Just own it, Queen. Yo creo the next step is to have them reach Checkpoint One, which will sync well for the other crew back in The Maze, it's still, like, 2 in the morning for them.

I just dunno what the next step in the chase is
Like, do they miraculously get away, or does it get more intense like, more police force show up?
idk what do you think, like, in sumup would be the most realistic outcome?

There could definitely be more police. I was thinking they were just leaving the city- but if they aren't out yet, maybe we could get some NightWings and helicopters 😈😈 They are the last truck after all, so that would make quite a bit of sense. That would be cooool.
