Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

(Oops... I was trying to come up with something that wasn't too pretty like "Crystal" but not too basic like "frostbite" or "snowflake" because a lot of people name Icewing OC stuff like that.)

Eclipse's tail twitched in both annoyance and interest at the hard look that crossed Bloodmoon's expression when he saw the dragonet.
Looks like he isn't outside his tribe's natural dislike for Icewings, she thought bitterly, watching him turn and pace back toward the human. She wasn't sure if the sudden bitterness was from Bloodmoon's stinging words a moment before, or perhaps the fact that, deep down, Eclipse favored Icewings over Nightwings.
Stop it Eclipse. This isn't about tribal barriers.
She remembered vaguely again that Bloodmoon might be listening to her thoughts and she couldn't suppress a frustrated look from crossing her face before she forced her gaze up to the sky, smothering her thoughts in a bombardment of meaningless observations about the space around her.
Eclipse heard Sunspot sigh and she glanced back at the Solarwing, pulling herself out of the mental space. She looked conflicted. Or discouraged. Eclipse couldn't really tell.
"You alright?" she murmured, resting her wing completely over Shard's back.

Yeah, I’m fine,” Sunspot said. “Um. Is there something I could do or whatever maybe?”

She had no clue why this made her feel so STUPID. She shifted from one foot to the other for a few moments before stepping closer to the doorway so she could see what was happening a little better. The little IceWing dragonet had scales so perfect they seemed to glow, the effect only marred by the royal blue blood. She looked away, remembering the last time she’d seen a dragonet this age.

Bloodmoon walked over to Eclipse and looked straight into her eyes. "Eclipse, I'm sorry for what I said. I'm not sorry for hating Icewings, but I can't not hate them. It's been like this for thousands of years. I can't justify what Darkstalker did to them was right, but I'll never like them."
Holy shHHoot, Darkstalker's still an issue? It's been 75 years since WW2 and nobody's hating on me for being German, it's been THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of years since the Darkstalker dealio. I vote we CALM. DOWN. DAWG.

Sorry, had to involve him, yes Cap, he's dead and gone. I had to do it because I just finished the book Darkstalker. Also, HISSSSSSSTORY

Alright, allow me to go into hiding for two decades while I write about our dying pal Tobias 🫡

And- and, yes, I'm, uh.. I'm still shopping ✋😵‍💫

Eclipse stared back at Bloodmoon, holding his gaze almost defiantly. There was so much she wanted to say that she couldn't. Lunarwings had been practically driven to extinction by other tribes--dragons who feared their power, or believed their warping was "unnatural". And Nightwings were no exception to that. They worked with the humans to hunt and kill what little was left of the tribe, whether or not they were forced to or chose. Eclipse could very well hate Bloodmoon for that, but somehow, she had set that aside. Worse, she had opened up to him. Albeit, very little and mostly against her will, as he usually just read it from her mind like an open book.
But another thought plagued her. If Bloodmoon hated Icewings, what would happen if he somehow found out that Eclipse was more closely tied with the tribe than he realized? Even worse, possibly the root of the problem that drove the great divide between the two tribes. Every dragon on the continent knew why Icewings and Nightwings didn't get along. It was told in stories and folklore that trickled through the ancestry of every dragon on the continent. A legend. A lesson.
And it all started from one Animus Icewing.
Eclipse buried the wordless thoughts beneath a pile of worthless, scattered thoughts, looking away from Bloodmoon as he stepped into the truck, blocking out his mind reading.

Eclipse turned to Sunspot, trying to push all attention to Bloodmoon out of her mind completely.
"Check the others and see who is injured. Bring them back here so we can take care of them."
She paused. "If you are okay with that..."
Bloodmoon nodded at the driver and opened the first aid kit. "Can anybody help me?" He looked at Eclipse, "Can you help me?"
Eclipse turned around to look at Bloodmoon again, fixing him with a grudging look but forcing her frustration down. She knew it wasn't the most important thing at that moment. She heaved a long sigh.
"Fine," she grumbled, pacing a couple steps closer to him.

Hehe, Eclipse and BM. Love it!

Bloodmoon nodded to the first aid kit. "Do you have any experience with bandages? Or, like, anything medical?"

"A little," Eclipse rubbed a talon over her snout, staring at the weird trinkets and cloth rolls in the tiny box. "Usually, I am working with things like basic herbs and leaves or silk for wounds. But I've never dealt with bullet injuries and I don't know what half of this stuff is for."
