Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Helios was silent for a long while.
He took a few steps into the shade and silently let out the breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Sol. I know what you’ve been through was hell, worse even.” He started, another tear silently rolling down his cheek. “After your sister….I would never leave you. I swear. I searched for years, any compound around the kingdom was torched by my own flames.” He said, shifting his weight and wincing at the deep wounds in his chest. “I finally heard about that death trap. The Scorpion Den…and I knew, you had to be in there.” He shut his eyes tight and looked down, feeling less like a king and even less like a father then ever before.
“I’m so…so sorry…I would never leave you…I swear. Sol…I love you…” he finished, a shudder racking his body.

Sol studied his father for a moment, keeping his expression even as he dropped his gaze. "Yeah, that's... yeah." He gave a breathy laugh, unable think of anything remotely intelligent to say. This was weird- not only because he hadn't spoken with his father for years, but also due to the fact that he had no real memory of Helios, though Helios was obviously trying to pick up their relationship where they left off- but where the flip had they left off?? He shivered, searching his memory for anything useful, but that only hucked him back into bad times he wished he didn't relive so often.
One thing he could draw from Helios- his determination. They were similar in that aspect. Somehow Sol was comforted by the thought.
"Helios," he started in an odd tone, "do you- do you want me to come back to the tribe? Or.. what's left of it? I guess... I heard something from- someone.. a lots.. a lots changed."
