Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Hibiscus turned to Cas, eyes wide. She shook her head slowly, speechless. "You... you have no idea."
She got up and walked to the other end of the truck, closer to Sol, and curled up beneath her wings. She needed to be alone.
Sol shot Cas an annoyed glare.
But Hibiscus was letting it get to her. That was almost more irritating than the SkyWing.
"We survived. And that's more than I can say for thousands. Rebels don't last in the Scorpion Den."
Sol turned away from the dragons, a weak attempt at ending the conversation.
Kal began to say something, but Sol interrupted, moving directly in front of Tobias from where the man sat, propped against the wall.
"You should lay down."
Tobias didn't move.
Sol reached for the man's shoulder, but he flinched away, wincing.
"Just leave it."
Sol swallowed, feeling the RainWings' gaze.
"You need to rest. I'll help you."
"Leave it." Tobias spoke quickly, his voice barely audible, eyes closed.
Sol's scales crawled. Tobias needed help. Where was Monzy? He shivered, whipping his head back toward the RainWings.
"Get Monzy."
Kassa cocked his head, as if daring Sol to go on.
Sol stared the RainWing down, his tail twiching with annoyance.

Alicanto wasn't sure if he was still awake. The sand moved beneath them, and he was pretty sure he could see it. But his mind wouldn't do anything. He couldn't fully think, and he didn't know if it was the lack of mental power or the loss of blood that made it near impossible to move any of his muscles. He wondered vaguely if he was dreaming.
The next thing he was aware of was the sand beneath his feathers again and he flinched slightly, trying to jerk his head up as he realized he'd started to slide into unconsciousness before. He was anxious that if he let himself fall asleep, he might never wake up again.
Alicanto groaned, opening his eyes again and looking up at Vel. The Rainwing was just a blurry outline in his black-tinted vision. His ears were still ringing and every little movement of his eyes or head sent more pain slicing into his brain.
"Suck it up." Vel snapped.
But her heart pounded.
They were in the middle OF THE FREAKING DESERT.
Where the HECK was she supposed to go, how the HECK was she supposed to save this dragon without medical supplies.
They needed to get back to the cavern. But the transports would have left by then, and the cave would have been emptied.
Stifling her anxious thoughts, Vel bit her tounge, replacing the CloudWing's talons with her own.
Veins could have been severed in the dragon's neck. He could be dying- he WAS dying -but Vel could be doing all of this in vain. Perhaps death was inevitable for the CloudWing. But she wouldn't give up.
Vel bore her full wait down on the wound, careful to be sure the dragon could breath. He was numb to the pain, his body now only twitching instinctively.
Fire.
They needed fire.
Venom could cauterize, too. But it also ate away at the flesh, it bubbled and boiled and sought to kill. But so did fire.
Vel leaned down, nuding the CloudWing's jaw. "Hey. Hey."
He didn't respond.
"HAY."
What an idiot. A dying idiot she badly wanted to save, but an idiot all the same.
"Stay awake, CloudWing." She huffed in a quick breath, taking note of the unwelcome hysteria in her tone. "Hey. Look at me. Look at me."

Shard looked at the Seawing, curious questions bubbling into the forefront of her mind, but she pushed the back down, watching the two dragons converse. After a moment, she turned back to Sunspot.
"What am I supposed to do?"
“Uh-“ Sunspot had nearly forgotten Share was there. “I’m not sure yet, kid. Can you fly?”
No. I thought you were legit a Skywing
You did eat you're dinner really fast though, I would have been gone for an hour or more
Now I am not fully convinced you are human 🧐🤔
I think it’s funny how we- or at least I- consider Cap a leader figure, which I think is probably a bad idea because she’s iNSANE. But definitely not human, nope

“Uh-“ Sunspot had nearly forgotten Share was there. “I’m not sure yet, kid. Can you fly?”

“Me? Lost in the desert?” Sunspot snarked. “I’m not stupid.”

“I’m going to find Eclipse,” she continued. She hesitated for a few moments. “I’m not sure the dragonet can come with me,” she said, a little quieter. “I mean- I can handle her and all, psh, but I don’t want her getting hurt or lost. It looks bad.” She glared at Crest challengingly.

(We getting some OG Snarky Sunspot UP IN HEA)
The solarwing had sass, he would give her that. Why do you even bother, Crest, just leave them alone. They obviously don't want your help. He took a breath and quelled his thoughts as the other two dragons conversed. No, they need your help. Justs help them. He ignored the comment and stepped forward, noticing the predicament they were in. "I know you said that you didn't need my help, but I can take the dragonette onto the transport with me and you can go find Eclipse." He gestured over to the transports, "And, by the way everyone else talks about her, she seems pretty important." He looked at her waiting for her reply.

It all happened so fast. A glint if silver and Corvus’ rear legs were pulled out from underneath him. He crashed to the ground, one canine tooth piercing his tongue, and suddenly hr was in the air.

Corvus hissed and thrashed, flapping his wings in an attempt to make Sage let him go. The mutant was surprisingly strong.

He lashed out with his long tail, whipping Sage across the face with a CRACK.

Corvus could feel the blood rushing to his head, making him dizzy and blood dripped from his mouth, the tangy taste staining his tongue.

“Let me go,” he snarled. “What do you even get out of this?”
Sage gripped the chain tightly as the cloudwing began to thrash around and attempt to escape. Pain shot through his face as a hard tail slapped him hard. For a second he seemed to black out, but light came quickly and he could feel the two of them beginning to drop a little from the sky. He spread his wings and stabilized them. Sage's face throbbed and he tasted blood... something he hadn't tasted his own of for a while. Anger began to swell in him but he quelled it for the time being and regained his calm composure.
"Let me go," the cloudwing snarled, "What do you even get out of this?"
The cold blue eyes continued staring down, but his time, they were now darting different directions, assessing the cloudwing and his next actions. Clearly, he had underestimated this dragon a little. The hit was solid and he decided to not let it happen again. He hissed out his answer to the question, anger mixing its way into his voice. "Love, power, money....isn't that what everyone makes sacrifices for? As for mine, you don't get to know my exact motivations for doing this." He started flying upwards again, but pain in his abdomen slashed through him and he crumpled slightly, the two dropped from the sky and it the forest ground, the chain coming looser in his hand.
Sage rolled to a knee and waited there. Has it already been that long? He gritted his teeth as more pain flared through his body and he opened his eyes, knowing that this was the perfect opportunity to strike at him. He tensed the muscles in his legs and wings, ready for a quick escape, but he knew he would be slower. The pain began to fade, but it was as if the pain had shifted to his chest and the burning sensation lingered there as he prepared for the attack.

“I don’t need your help,” Sunspot said, tipping her nose up. “But i suppose Shard can go with you if she wants.”

Stupid nosy SeaWing.

Corvus kicked his rear legs free from the chain and stood up, head low, hissing dangerously. The mutant was prone on the ground gritting his teeth in pain. Weird.

Corvus hesitated, making a half circle, sniffing the stranger.

You stupid idiot, you’re missing your chance!

Corvus leapt again, his front talons striking Sages upper shoulders and shoving him into the dirt.
