"It's just tight," Eclipse said, hesitantly allowing Sol to support her. "I don't think it's broken, dislocated at the worst--but I'm sure it's just bruised."

Sol moved closer to the LunarWing's side, his scales brushing hers as he sought to provide the dragon better stabilization. They were silent for a moment, and Sol could feel how hesitant Eclipse felt towards the physical contact. But he did not move, nor reposition himself, he could feel her weight bearing down on his shoulder, and was glad to be of help.
The silence continued a few paces before Sol let out a scoffing sigh. "Goodness, Eclipse, you followed me out here." He spoke his mind, realizing everything as he spoke. "You saved Tobias. And myself. Because you came after me? I didn't- I didn't ask for that. But, goodness, we needed it." He hesitated, still replaying events in his mind. "Thank you. You are an incredible friend, Eclipse. I am truly in your debt."

Eclipse glanced at Sol, once again in shock before shooting her gaze back to the mountains jutting the horizon.
"I owed you both," she said quietly. "You risked your life to save me in the Den and Tobias risked so much to help get everyone out, and to keep me safe and sane. I think we are pretty much even now." She gave Sol a small smile.

Sol cocked his head with a content sigh. "Thank you, Eclipse. I can't- I can't explain how much our friendship means to me. Besides Tobe.. I've never had such a good friend before. Thank you."

Eclipse ducked her head shyly, feeling her face warm. Part of her deep down shuddered at the idea of a friend, but the feeling of support--physically and emotionally--was something she never realized she ever truly missed.
But would it last? That was the thought that also reared its head when she was around other dragons. Sol was a Solarwing and the prince of his tribe as well. He would probably go back to his kingdom with his father, and Sunspot might return to her tribe as well. Eclipse couldn't stay around them if they went to live with the Solarwings again, after all, her tribe was the polar opposite of theirs.
So what would happen when their trip out of the desert ended and all of the refugees went their own ways?
"Don't mention it," Eclipse replied to Sol mechanically, lost in thought.
